DVD drive Was great
- Pros: It was perfect for the application i needed it for no probs with software, that i really didn't need but still worked like a charm.
- Cons: Came with Nero on Software CD.
- Other Thoughts: The reason I bought this drive was because, the DVD drive in my laptop went bad and it was a piece of junk lappy, so I didn't want to spend all the money on replacing it. I just got an external drive to fix the problem until I have the money to just get a new laptop. NEWEGG HAS THE BEST SHIPPING TIME FROM UPS!
Worked Once
- Pros: The one time it worked it was quiet enough, and fast enough that I wanted to keep it.
- Cons: Stopped working after on the second disc, malfunctioned with a 'media write error'. Bought a new one and the media worked fine.
- Other Thoughts: Sent it back to NewEgg, they had to bite the price of this guy.
good reads ok writes
- Pros: Reads everything you can throw at it, I even managed to recover some of my scratched cd's, Fast writes, fairly quiet
- Cons: I personally only use verbatim media and this drives hates DVD+R DL, the burn quality is under average on over 20 burns I made, dvd's skip only when burned with this drive, it also came with the latest FW update not even available on lite-on's the website.
- Other Thoughts: I hope the burn quality increases with DVD+R DL Verbatim media, I rated this drive 4 eggs as I have yet to try other DVD+R DL media.
