1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 3 years

Pros: When it worked it was fine.

Cons: Had in HTPC; not used often. Started getting pixelation with Blu-Rays and read errors with CDs about a 6 months ago; kept getting progressively worse; latest firmware installed. Lite-On was no help. Installed a different brand of BD R/W and all was well. Threw it out the LiteOn with my confidence in their products.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought this a couple of years ago for a build I was planning. I put it in my old computer and used it and just built my new rig and transferred it over. Still running great with no issues.

Cons: Software didn't run very fast in old computer but have not had time to use it on new rig so it will probably run better with quicker load times. I believe it was since the old one was not up to par any more.

5 out of 5 eggsGood purchase.

Pros: *Install was quick and easy.
*Reads pretty much all media.
*Burning speeds is good for BR media.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: After almost a year drive works fine so far, have had experience with previous Lite-On drives where they simply stop working after 1 year or so. As previously posted cheap enough to be able to upgrade now and then.

2 out of 5 eggsThis lasted for a year and a half of occasional use

Pros: Wasn't too expensive, had nice specs and was light scribe capable.

Cons: Used this drive about 20 times in over two years...

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. The LITE ON stuff is inexpensive but then it doesn't last that long. On the upside, saving money up front allows you to replace it with the latest technology when it becomes available.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works over a year now

Pros: No problems. It has worked for over a year. Price was good. This is what I ask of anything I buy. What more can we ask?

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I appreciate a product that is priced right but most importantly a product that keeps working like this one.

Contrastingly, I have nothing but swear words for motherboards from 2 different manufacturers with the best reputations up till that time that were DOA 3 times in a row or did not produce stable system 3 times in a row. The bad mobos cost me literally over $500.

Pros: None

Cons: Stopped burning Blu-Rays, only burns DVD-Rs and CD-Rs. Eject mechanism is faulty, I have to pull the tray out and push it in manually.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for the Buck

Pros: PRICE. This unit doesn't seem to be real noisy. Comes w/ Software.

Cons: Faceplate not as attractive as some others. I have owned several LiteOn DVD burners in recent years. They seem to last 1.5-2yrs & then just stop working. I burn maybe 10 disc a year; so, they are certainly not getting hammered. The setting there day after day, month after month not being used probably doesn't help.

Other Thoughts: I haven't tried to burn a BR yet. But have I have played them on here.
