Pros: Small, Light, Lid action tray.

Cons: Died after 2 months of dormant. USB cable it comes with is only 8" long, 3 of those inches are the connector ends.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy. LITEON is unreliable. It may work outo f the box. But after 2 months of non use, I pulled it out to use it again, and it fails to read and just keeps spinning. Not the first time I have been given a LITEON that has failed.

Pros: small size, compact

Cons: nero software cumbersome- has a tendency to hijack other software programs I prefer, cd burner does not work at all. slow to start up - I don't want to wait for minutes before the disc drawer will open; confusing operation - flashing light? not flashing light? Instructions are not made for ordinary people, unless of course you read French...

Other Thoughts: I would not consider purchasing this product.

Pros: Slim, fast and I like the brand.

Cons: Very light weight although most slim, low profile external devices are light weight; however the most important thing to know is that the 2.0 cable is only "9" long! The longer thin cable works for older 1.0s that need power also. So if you are buying this to work off of a desk top you might want to make sure you USB ports are on top of your case or at the very bottom, in the middle of a mid-tower or larger will be an issue. Also another issue is when the tray is open and when you insert a DVD/CD in to the drive (like laptops you have to press and snap the CD in) the whole device will tip forward when you try to snap it in. I just brace it with my finger to get it to work. I took off only two eggs for these issues.

Other Thoughts: I am not bashing LITEON, but this is a real problem when using these are real issues. The all plastic design could be changed. Most people like me would not mind paying a little more for a longer USB and better case materials.

Pros: Simple. It works very well. No problems after a few months of use. Quiet, though it is a little slow, but that is right on the specs, so that can't be deemed a con.

Cons: Cable has two connectors. No big deal.

Pros: It's fairly quiet while playing movies. The price is right.

Cons: I need to use both of the USB ports to power it, which I expected. What I didn't expect was the short length of one of them. It is terribly short. Unusable for what I need it for without paying extra for a usb extension. The tray system is ok, but I think I prefer a flip lid. It's a bit cumbersome at times.

Pros: - Makes CD/DVD read/write possible for systems without CD/DVD ROM

- Very small, works as it should, no installation issues, just plug and play

Cons: I have no complaints. This unit works just the way it is supposed to.

Pros: Works out of the box with no driver installation required. Worked in both Windows XP and Linux Mint automatically.

Cons: A little slower than an internal DVD drive I think. Not sure if this is typical of an external DVD drive.

Other Thoughts: I was using it with a USB 2.0 port with a Biostar A55MH motherboard and AMD A6-3650 processor. I used it to install Windows XP and Linux mint and it worked fine. The bios recognized it automatically and booted from this drive without any problems.

There is no powercord -- it uses USB power. This could be a pro or con depending on if you have available power outlets or available USB ports.

Pros: Does what it has to do, havent burned anything with it yet but it works.

Cons: Plastic, so if u push on it the case hard enough the cd will stop spinning. Would be nice if it was aluminum for ruggedness but for the price it works fine.

Pros: Nice drive! great desing and overall it works fine

Cons: Not extremely fast

Pros: Fantastic quality burner. Lite-On quality. Perfect solution to Netbook computer. Very easy to install.
