3 out of 5 eggsnothing but problems with win7

Pros: burns accurately most of the time..

Cons: windows 7 freezes half the time i try to burn with this drive. firmware and driver updates are NOT available. in fact pioneer doesn't even have this thing on their web site.

Other Thoughts: lack of support from pioneer for this drive doesn't reflect a good company image

Pros: The burn quality impressed me so much (scanned with a lite-on IHBS112) that I bought a BDR-2208 for my other computer.

Cons: the fact that Pioneer released so many different versions of this drive (kernel ID's). This drives ID is "general" which they don't release updates as often as they do for the other ID's of the BDR-207M.

Other Thoughts: Firmware v1.30 was released for this drive, look for the version for kernel ID=general. Already updated mine.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Burner But Choose Model Carefully!

Pros: I have been buying Pioneer burned for 10 years now. They are the best and most solid. This one is no different. All rated burn speeds are accurate. Plays every Blu-Ray I own smoothly (in PowerDVD, MPC and VLC)

Cons: This is the BDR-207M model. The model with the "M" at the end will not be firmware updatable, so this will forever be stuck at Revision 1.20. Version 1.21, 1.25 and 1.30 have now been released, but only for the 207D version. If you want to be able to upgrade the firmware do not get this "M" model.
