Is a BLu-Ray Reader/ DVD+ CD Burner
- Pros: reads Blu-ray, DVD & CD's FAST.
16X is a sufficient speed for burning DVD+R's and 12x for DVD-DL
Lightscribe works great, and makes discs look professional
Quite when doing everything, which is nice. Hopefully this will last,
4MB cache
- Cons: none I can think of yet
- Other Thoughts: I bought this as a second ODD drive for my
XPS 730x which came with a Blu-Ray burner. Now I can backup my blu-ray DVD's /DVD's & Cd's without having to move any discs until they are finished!

Good Combo
- Pros: Runs Bluray at 8X, loads quicker. Burns DVD disks well. Has Lightscribe for labling. Fast enough today and tomorrow for the media you will use. Seems well made. The Motor is quiteTime will tell if it stays that way, a replacemnt for a Liteon DVD burner. The Liteon load tray would get stuck and not open.
- Cons: Not a BluRay Burner, Border line price, could maybe have been a little less.
- Other Thoughts: Love the black face, cool like Bluray.

- Pros: This is a great drive. I installed it right away. had no problems. it is very quiet, works great on xp. Very fast. fast shipping.
- Cons: no major issues. the blue LED is a little too bright, but is no big deal. If you don't stare at it directly it shouldn't be a problem.
- Other Thoughts: This is a great drive. I'm using windows xp and haven't had any issues whatsoever.
Does the job
- Pros: Haven't found a disc (blu-ray or otherwise) that this wouldn't read.
- Cons: I put this in a new HTPC machine with an AMD 3.0GHz quad-core processor and 8GB DDR3, and it takes around twice as long to rip DVD's as my Intel 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo machine with 4GB DDR2. I believe it's the drive, because when ripping from my Pioneer DVD burner, the activity light stays on the entire time (indicating the data stream is constant), while on the LG, it flashes the entire time, making me think it's only reading data in chunks.
- Other Thoughts: The read speed issue could be from some difference between the two motherboards, I suppose, but they are both top quality boards (the Asus being over three years old, the Gigabyte brand new). Aside from that the only difference is that the Pioneer drive is on an IDE channel, while the LG is set up as a SATA device. /shrug
Nice product
- Pros: Very nice BD drive, has taken everything I have put it through. BD movies are awsome and DVD's look much better playing on this drive. I use Vista 64 bit and install was a breeze. Just install the software and do the updates, easy as that.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: Using with a SONY 42" LCD tv and HTPC with a Radeon 4850 video card, the picture is incredible.
