1 out of 5 eggsLasted 2 years

Pros: Worked great for 2yrs

Cons: It doesn't want to read any optical media (CD-R, DVD, BluRay) It opens and closes and the lights blink but when you try to view what is on the disc it causes explorer to freeze up like it was reading a bad disc.. The problem just started and the drive just so happens to be out of warranty.. I bet I haven't even burned 100 discs with this drive. Updating the firmware hasn't helped.. I think the drive has issues with the lasers. I've had drives die on me but they were just plain worn out from burning hundred or thousands of discs.. This Blu-ray burner just barely lasted 2 years.

Other Thoughts: What a disappointment.. The drive has been a champ up until a week ago when I started having problems. Why can't they make stuff that lasts more than a year or 2?? This this had seen really light duty compared to my DVD burners.. The next one will most likely be something other than an LG..

5 out of 5 eggsPlug and Play

Pros: Worked straight out of the box.

Cons: This device is compatible with Windows Vista and XP. (I have 7) I'm not sure if this is related but anytime I take a disk out of the device a pop up screen comes up informing me I need to insert the disc into the drive. (I am completely exited from the program on the disk) Mostly just annoying- not worth a star.

Other Thoughts: Need LightScribe software of course because this is OEM. BluRay cannot utilize LightScribe because the layers that would be etched are used on a BluRay disc.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it does well.

Pros: Price, burns blu-ray, burns DVD, Burns CD, and has 3D playback. It doesn't take long to read a Blu-ray or DVD, and burning is so fast. The blu-ray suite program mine came with works great no issues other than 2 channel audio but when your listening with headsets you don't miss surround sound. The other thing I liked was the black finish matches my li lian dragon force case.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Should have bout two.

1 out of 5 eggsWeak Drive

Pros: At least I got to install my os and import all of my music before it took a dump.

Cons: Weak

Other Thoughts: The drive worked fine for a couple of weeks and then it just stopped reading discs of any kind. The drive shows up in device manager but whenever I put in a disc it just doesn't even bother to spin it, just makes a couple of clicks. I tried updating the firmware but the updater can't even recognize the drive. At least it was useful for my OS installation and music rips.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Blu-Ray Burner

Pros: Fast, efficient burning. Burned about 10 Blu-Ray discs without error

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Have never been disappointed yet by LG Drives. This is the third one I've purchased, the others being DVD-Recorders.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Burns everything fast, without errors, and stylishly, all fairly cheap with the same specs as the other burners in its class.

Cons: None I've yet discovered.

Other Thoughts: A good burner for the price and it looks really pretty.

5 out of 5 eggsBlue and Loving It

Pros: I included this unit in the design for the rig that I built last year, and I've loved in since the day I turned it on. Being able to read and burn 3D content at an affordable price is a huge advantage to anyone who does work with graphics or HD movie editing.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Cheers.

1 out of 5 eggsThis really sucks

Pros: Absolutely nothing.

Cons: The first one I got was a complete dud, it wouldn't even open, I tried it on multiple power supplies. Whatever, sometimes these things happen so I RMA'd and received my new one (thanks newegg!). This one will read a regular CD/DVD but Blu Ray movies show as empty discs. Also I tried to boot from my windows 7 professional SP1 disc using this drive, that didn't work either. i had to buy a different drive and install that to boot from.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this, if you want a Blu Ray drive shell out the extra money for a working one.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked well for the 1 time before it died

Pros: Looks slick, does all the formats I could want.

Cons: Died after the first usage! I put a 2nd disc in, it loaded it, then promptly disappeared from Windows. Rebooted and checked BIOS, also gone. Swapped it out for my old rom drive, and the old one worked fine. Now I've had it 90 days, I'm stuck with a $70 dud that worked once. Super.

5 out of 5 eggsCouldn't beat that price

Pros: Price
Quality brand
No read or write errors

Cons: None and certainly none at the price point I paid.

Other Thoughts: I had heard reports around the web that people were having problems with certain brands of BluRay burners. I have had no trouble with this unit. It's another quality LG product of which I'm starting to own more and more.
