5 out of 5 eggsSleek and slick drive for a dying media breed

Pros: 1. Looks clean and simple. Looks real similiar to the Mac Superdrive

2. Runs pretty quiet and low vibration depending on media as it varies I've found.

3. Slot drive = sexy vs tray DVD drive. Worth that alone IMO and why I bought it

4. DVD/CD's slide in and out easy peasy with slot drive, much nicer then tray drives.

Cons: 1. No USB 3.0 connection for faster speed, gotta get a Blu Ray drive for that

2. Slower vs internal drive but I knew this ahead of time

2. Pricey for what it is, a slot drive shouldn't be that much more vs tray, so a bit of a rip off. Wait for a coupon or sale like I did for better price of $35

3. Included software is beyond worthless

4. For the price, an included basic carrying case would have been nice

Other Thoughts: After 22 years of a dedicated CD DVD drive usage since my early days of computing, I finally decided that it was no longer really viable or useful to have a bulky drive in my gaming rig anymore.

I however and old school and still prefer getting phsyical media for my money so I still wanted the ability to load games up the good old fashioned way even if internet is a bit faster but data caps suck are are a way of life for me.

But I've always liked the usage of slot drive DVD players vs trays and because they are becoming rare, I jumped at the chance at LG's model while it it had a coupon sale at newegg. Eventually, they won't make them anymore as the media itself is slowly dying out due to USB drive and fast internet. Kinda sad to see the beginning of the end of computers ionic media.

If you don't mind paying a little extra for the sleek look and usage of a slot drive vs tray external DVD, you really can't get better then this other then a real SuperDrive from Mac for an obscene price.

5 out of 5 eggsnice little drive

Pros: -portable
-very easy to use
-light weight
-doesn't require extra power source other than usb 2.0 slot

Cons: -it vibrates kind of loud, but what do you expect

Other Thoughts: I mainly bought this because I had a bunch of dvds I needed to put on hard drives. It's simple and does exactly what I intended it to do.

5 out of 5 eggsNice looking and quiet DVD Drive

Pros: Nice Looking
Slim & Lightweight
Quiet
Reasonable price

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased this because my new custom pc doesn't have any drive bays for a CD/DVD & my wife's Macbook Air doesn't have one either. I thought this would come in handy in pinch just in case we need it.
It also matches the look of the Macbook :)

3 out of 5 eggsNice drive but flimsy case

Pros: Nice looking unit, slot loading. Does what it says it will do.

Cons: I sent it back the plastic case in my opinion was way to flimsy to carry in my bag daily. And personally it really didn't look much thinner than most I've seen.
One really annoying thing you could hear this thing loading or ejecting from across the room, it sounds like a DVD shredder lol

5 out of 5 eggsExternal

Pros: great way to burn a disc. when my burner on my computer went out. this item saved the day at work. best choice i have made recently to buy. quick loading, quick burn, quick installing drives. over all great.

Cons: usb sticks are more common than a burnt disc with data. file sharing may be simpler with a usb hard drive

Other Thoughts: some times it just easy to put things on a disc to load, or to listen to a cd in a car. i know its gonna be an old technology soon but i dont care. i will always burn cds and data to a disc to store safely.
