5 out of 5 eggsExcellent back-up solutin

Pros: Installed quickly and easily on my XP and Vista machines. Everything works as it should. It has a sleek, black design.

Cons: Comes bundles with Nero. If you want a lightweight, reliable burning program, I recommend BurnAware.

Other Thoughts: I hardly ever write reviews, but I wanted to offset the one that said that the driver crashed his OS as well as the incomprehensibly written one. It's well worth the extra money to get an external drive if you need a blu-ray burner for multiple computers. I chose this as my back-up solution because I recently had an external hard-drive fail, so I figured this should be safer for my data.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent External Bluray HD DVD!

Pros: Burns BD-R, BD-R DL, DVD+-R, DVD-RAM, CD-R, etc, with great speeds. Will play HD-DVD as well, but it won't burn HD-DVD.

Cons: A bit bulky, but its a solid drive. The other 2 stupid reviews should be deleted, I have experienced no problems in months of over 5 months usage.

Other Thoughts: Would highly recommend this if looking for an external drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Burner for a Great Price

Pros: I had received this as a gift from a good friend but newegg definitely has the best deal. I haven't had any problems burning media and it also burns dual layer dvds as well. I think the first reviewer should have put his tech knowledge at low understanding because I don't see how anything would be going wrong if you have a clean os installed on your computer as it is simple usb plug and play. I also like the fact that I can still watch my HD-DVDs too. I do have mine plugged into the usb on the motherboard though not the front usb

Cons: The only thing would be maybe the look. It is a little bulky but for everthing it does I wouldn't take an egg away for that.

Other Thoughts: All in all, trust me you will be pleasantly satisfied if you do purchase this burner. I burn at least 4 dual layer dvds a day and have burned 10 Bluray DVDs and 2 dual layer Blurays and have not coastered a single one. I saw how avg BD burners are starting about 160, for a little bit more you could have an excelent working external that you can travel with.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Egg

Pros: OK, if nobody else is going to do this, I am...
This review is to offset the two dumb 1 egg reviews.

Cons: I'm rocking the Newegg boat with this review

Other Thoughts: I've been considering purchasing this burner for some time now and there's only 1 decent review, which should give this item an overall of 5 eggs. Unfortunately the 2 dumbest reviews I've ever seen on Newegg are forcing this overall rating to 2 eggs...

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING!!

Pros: Worked like a charm out of the box on an Alienware M17. All the drivers installed and ran perfectly,no issue's what-so-ever. Burns flawless disks burnt 11 Dual-Layer 50 gb Verbatim disks with no issues.

Cons: None for this product at all it's all great. Blank Blu-Ray disks are stupid expensive but if you have alot of data to back up worth it in the long run, would you rather have 12 dvd's lying around or 1 Blu-Ray disk?

Other Thoughts: If you want to back up your computer or your Blu-Ray disks don't hesitate to buy this product along with Verbatim Dual Layer, doesn't disappoint. This is coming from a long time New Egg Customer and professional computer builder!

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work out of the box

Pros: None, other than price.

Cons: This player didn't work out of the box. IN FACT, it's driver forced me to reformat my hard drive and re-install my OS. If I were you, spend the extra $$$ and get an LG. PS - the customer support for this product is non-existent.
