5 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer

Pros: Great printer. Have printed thousands of pages through them. I have two and need two more. Wish they were still stocked at newegg.

Cons: B&W scan is average, better on other machine, but it is fast and works for most of our scans; can run through in color for higher res.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed

Pros: I print to this from multiple PCs, as it's connected to and shared by one of the PCs we have. It's extremely quick and we still haven't run out of the trial toner after several months and hundreds of pages.

I can't comment on the fax functionality, but it also does a great job as a scanner, and the ultra low power standby mode that it comes out of very quickly is definitely something I appreciate.

Cons: It's black and white only, which is the trade off that comes with an affordable laser printer, and does take up a reasonable amount of space. It does not have a network port, which would be nice, but I knew it didn't have that feature when I bought it, as it wasn't worth the extra cost to me.

5 out of 5 eggsMAC USERS - READ THIS

Pros: I am a MAC user (10.6 - SnowLeopard) and find this printer very good. For $100, it is a bargain.
So the problem most of you users (mostly MAC) are having is the scanning.
So make sure you go to Canon's website and download all the drivers for both the Scan and Printer Driver (http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/printers_multifunction/black_white_laser_multifunction/imageclass_mf4350d#DriversAndSoftware)
Once thats downloaded, all the necessary drivers is installed.
I will briefly explain how to scan.

(SCAN)
Assuming you downloaded all the drivers, go to the Applications folder -> Image Capture.
A window will popup and select the printer on the left under devices.
Click Scan on the bottom right and your done.
SCAN DOES WORK FOR MAC USERS AS WELL!
Whoever says it doesn't work, that is false.
Hope this helps

Cons: none so far

4 out of 5 eggsNo Frills Laser Printer

Pros: What do 4 eggs mean?

Does the job quickly, quietly and is very cost effective. Documents are clean, crisp and professional looking. Easy access to change paper, envelops, mailing labels etc. This replaced a similar Ink Jet version.

Cons: Egg Loss: Can tend to curl, just a little bit, laser rated paper. Not that big of a deal but can be a nuisance if you are printing large quantities. For important work I use a heavier weight paper.

Other Thoughts: Great for a home office, which is what I use it for. Not sure how long it would stand up in a small to medium size business environment.

2 out of 5 eggsNot useful in our small office

Pros: Laser AIO, good print speed, doc feeder for scan/copy.

Cons: Mac drivers are a compatibility nightmare and won't allow scanner sharing. Extremely negative experiences trying to share cross-platform mac->windows and windows->mac. No wired or wireless network interface (USB only)

Other Thoughts: We'd hoped to use this printer on our network, either through the USB print server built into our router, or shared from one of our machines, but have encountered driver compatibility issues sharing mac/windows and windows/mac. We have not been able to share the scanner from either platform.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Inexpensive for Multipurpose Laser. Small footprint. Quick first page printout, duplex! Decent fax, copier . Small Cartridges easily found cheaply on internet from 20 to 30 dollars. A zillion of these printers out there ensures cartridges available cheaply, indefinitely. It's best purpose is for a personal, moderate output, multipurpose office machine whose primary purpose is that occasional few copies, print, fax. If you are going to print a few documents a day of of 1 to 20 pages, it's fine. If you are going to be printing several hundred pages a day at a time, and are looking for extremely great quality for mail outs or advertising, look elsewhere. You will spend each day replacing cartridges and will negate any savings. Plus the print, although fine for basic office, is not that impressive. Since much of our printing is for local office consumption and gets scanned or shredded after use anyway, this printer has wonderful black print quality for that usage. Win7-64 drivers!

Cons: No Networking, consider it a small stand alone that is cheap enough that you could buy several...one for each office. Not made for high usage office . Strange paper bin without draw or cover, makes it look budget in some offices. Cartridge life around 2000 pages, no option for bigger cartridges.

Other Thoughts: Easiest printer install ever. I have owned numerous lasers, inkjets and still have about 7 printers, five in my main business. This is not my "go to" printer for big duplex jobs. It "is" my go to printer for a quick fax, page or two print or quick copy. It has an almost instant start up time that is very gratifying if you are just printing a page or two.

Pros: worked really nice when it worked

Cons: printer jammed. Followed directions pulled out paper 5 times. final jam I could not remove the paper. searched for technical manual on how to disassemble and fix problem. no support. Found a website that said remove springs and screws. I got the paper out. It immediately jammed again.

5 out of 5 eggsMy 2nd Canon Laser!

Pros: Fantastic laser printer/scanner/copier/fax. I have another one here at my home, and bought this one, because for $99, that's a steal, and 2--if one of my other printers bite the dust, then I'll toss it, and replace it with this one.
It works very well. Nice copies, granted in black and white; but I even found a place on another competitors web site that sells the toner cartridges for like $15-20

Cons: Doesn't make omelettes with hashbrowns and orange juice.

Other Thoughts: Anyone who is looking for an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier/fax machine, they should highly consider the Canon's line.
