1 out of 5 eggsInoperable right out of the box

Pros: So far, none.

Cons: Beware: Ships with what are apparently fake ink carts. They plug in but won't print so much as a single page. Menu locked; won't reset; no recourse.

Other Thoughts: There goes thirty bucks and a couple lost hours, which for a three-time Brother owner, aren't especially appreciated. Please tell me this isn't a device with the sole aim of selling ink carts, guys.

5 out of 5 eggsa good deal

Pros: easy setup, good quailty for our usage, haven't run out of ink yet like with HP, epson, etc. main uses are for printing and scanning. no problems so far at all after 3+ mo's. good deal for price - believe we pd $79 or $89 with free shipping.

Cons: can't figure out how to re-direct default directory when scanning. referring to help manual doesn't cover the 165

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer, but Not For Me

Pros: Great printer. Fits on the smallest of shelves in the smallest of closets and it's no trouble grabbing printed pages out of the cramped space. Copier is quick and easy as well.

Cons: Could be faster. I haven't owned an inkjet for about 4 years but I'm sure that this is no faster than the cheapo I got for free with my Compaq Desktop in 2004.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't work well with Windows Home Server. There was no stated support for WHS/Win2003 but I took a chance. I was able to modify the drivers to get the printer set up and shared in WHS. While printing with this setup worked from WinXP, however I could not print to the shared printer from Vista64 or MacOSX. I'm going with the wireless model for the extra $40. Hopefully that will work with my setup better.

5 out of 5 eggsjust letting you know

Pros: on sale30 bucks off how could I not, if one color runs out u can replace that color cartridge not the whole 3 color cartridge copier works great have not used the scanner yet color scale is good very clean edges on normal paper 22lb

Cons: did not come with a usb cable

Other Thoughts: My wife has an older brother printer and I love using it. I needed new ink cartridges for my dell printer"$25 a pop" the price of this printer was the same as 1 set"black and color" of refills for my old dell printer - so the dell had to go

5 out of 5 eggsBrother DCP-165C All-In-One Printer

Pros: Easy to set-up & use, nice design, fast & easy to load ink & paper, scan, print & copy. Works well, prints fast & image print quality is very good.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: For the money, image print quality & the cost of replacement ink cartridges, this All-In-One is a good choice.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Printer

Pros: Excellent Printer especially for the price. Super easy and straight-forward set-up instructions. Paper is front loaded so paper and mechanism is covered. That's a plus for me as we have two cats. So, the mechanism stays clean. Ink cartridges are cheap to replace.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Well built. Excellent printer for the money.
Newegg was fast on delivery as always.
