5 out of 5 eggsExceeds expectation

This review is from: Brother MFC-J6920DW Wireless Color Multifunction Inkjet Printer

Pros: great shape design, ease of access to all function, very well controls and wire management.
I has all necessary functions for home office: print copy scan. double sided scan and 11x17 copy, print scan is great feature.
power management is bet of all.
fast and quiet operations.
Every thing is easy to use, even though Brother is providing lifetime tech support.
(if I had magic power, I couldn't have better designed and built)

Cons: I wish it had the film scanning feature!

Other Thoughts: If you're looking, this is the one to buy.
I have replaced a relatively new, major brand all in-one device with this Brother for the following reasons:
Double sided scanning, doc feeder and 11x17 accommodation.
my existing device had a non-solvable issue, getting unresolved error messages randomly, even the manufacture helped promptly (my pc running win7 pro)
The Brother Printer was 33% cheaper than the replace one.

5 out of 5 eggsBrother MFC-J6920

This review is from: Brother MFC-J6920DW Wireless Color Multifunction Inkjet Printer

Pros: Excellent printer for the price ! Needed a printer that would print 11 X 17 documents and I believe I chose the right printer. Ink seems to hold up extremely well so far. (I mostly use black and haven't used much color ink)

Cons: None so far

2 out of 5 eggsWorst Printer and Scanner I ever used

This review is from: Brother MFC-J6920DW Wireless Color Multifunction Inkjet Printer

Pros: 11 X 17 scanner, print speed

Cons: Print Quality, Scan Quality

Other Thoughts: I have owned many printers and scanners and even in low end models the print and especially scan quality was good. With the MFC-6920DW unit I have this is not the case. You can achieve only acceptable print quality on this model on plain white paper in Best mode. In normal mode my unit produced sharp lines parallel to the long edge of the paper every 35 mm (heads were cleaned and aligned!! and produced perfect diagnostic prints). These were very noticeable. It is often desirable for me to produce work prints for hand annotation for scientific analysis, so normal mode is preferable for most prints since it is economical for ink. In fairness to this printer, you can achieve good quality prints on high quality photo paper in best mode, and the printing time for an 8.5 X11" print is about 1min 15 seconds. The scan quality is quite poor and only really suitable for copying books. You can easily see the image degradation compared to the original. Most scanners you would really have to check hard. The optional BookScan Enhancer software resulted in an exceptionally poor scan of a 11x17" book. The text was barely legible and you could not save the scan as a PDF. I am deleting that software from the computer. Scanning from the touch-pad of the printer to a file resulted in a satisfactory (but not great) copy of a 11x17" book page. If I paid full list price on this multi-function unit I would feel robbed. At the price I paid I feel conned both by Brother advertising and some of the reviews I read and You Tube videos I watched.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer

This review is from: Brother MFC-J6920DW Wireless Color Multifunction Inkjet Printer

Pros: Good Brother quality. Ink output is pretty true. I got 580 prints before having to replace factory ink cartridges. A lot of color printing. Photo quality isn't great on regular paper but it passes.

Cons: Trying to set up wireless isn't as easy as I thought but I will get it. It does work from my Android phone though with the iPrint App. The printer is rather large but we bought a computer table for $5 at a thrift store that it sits on.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I would say thumbs up to Brother for this printer.

5 out of 5 eggsNice printer

This review is from: Brother MFC-J6920DW Wireless Color Multifunction Inkjet Printer

Pros: Now that I have had a chance to use the printer and install it on several computers I can only state: Nice little printer.
So far it is working with no problems. The auto select bin is really nice. Works smooth.

Cons: No ground wire. Setup was too easy.

Other Thoughts: I have used HP for many years and Epson for many years. But I think, Brother You have a new customer. Oh Brother this thing is nice.

1 out of 5 eggsGround less.

This review is from: Brother MFC-J6920DW Wireless Color Multifunction Inkjet Printer

Pros: I will at this time not be to critical but where is the ground wire. Work place requires a ground on all equipment!!!
Was this designed in the 60's. Have not seen a groundless device in many years. Watch out.

Cons: No ground wire not a grounded printer.
