5 out of 5 eggsGood Printer

Pros: This is a great MFP. I work in IT and have used numerous MFPs in business over the last 10 years. For my home/office/family this has been a great one. Even my four kids use it often for homework, scanning, copying, printing.

I like the Mac, and PC drivers included. Wished there was a Linux driver.

The MFP is wired, but you can scan and print from a wireless computer on the same LAN.

Cons: As with most printers it comes with toner cartridges that only have a limited capacity. We are conservative with our printing and the black lasted about 6 months, and the color even lasted longer. The replacement ones can be found for a discount online.

Other Thoughts: I would buy it again.

1 out of 5 eggsSTAY AWAY

Pros: Great prints when it works
easy to use

Cons: Sledomly works
very heavy
used a rediculous amount of tonner

Other Thoughts: I bought 5 of these for friends, family and my business, of the 5 only 1 has ever worked properly. 3 of the 5 konica replaced once under warranty the new units functioned for about 1000 copies and started dropping blotches like the originals did warranty is now over and cost to repair is 100's of dollars have 4 junk units. These units chewed through tonner at 10 times the normal rate. in the 1000 copies(normal stuff no pictures) had to replace the toner 3 times, and waste toner bottel twice each. JUNK JUNK JUNK, stay away from these printers. As a side note i have two other konica magicolor that have done similar things. POOR quality in anything under $2000 from konica. Our old 7830 was a tank and all around great printer that is why i have stuck with them but that is over i will never own another konica printer and neither will the business i support.

1 out of 5 eggsThe opposite of Intuitive

Pros: Honestly, I gave this printer the benefit of the doubt for 4 months and actually got a little angry with my co-workers who constantly talked about it negatively. After spending this much time with it I can say without agenda that this printer has very few pros. The only thing everyone seems to like about it is it's ability to scan to the network very quickly.

Cons: The setup was quite a process. I'm a very tech savvy person, the IT director of the foundation I work for and it was still a daunting process to setup. Once it was setup though, it scans and prints well facing a heavy workload. The first thing I noticed was how terrible the colors were out of the box. I spent 2 months with our Creative Director fine tuning the colors so that it looks halfway decent. But by far the most common and annoying problem was the fact that printing anything other than a standard 8.5 X 11 document causes HUGE problems. For the first three months, I was the only one capable of printing on legal paper. The settings have to be tweaked on both the printer and the computer and if anything isn't right, it throws errors and freaks out.. RESTART! I finally taught the rest of the office how to do it and today, my colleague asked me how to print on card stock. I said, no problem, played and played until I realized, it is incapable because of the thickness.

Other Thoughts: I can't believe it, I even flashed the bios and installed a newer firmware from Konica Minolta and it still does the same ridiculous stuff. I spent hours on the phone with Minolta and have been told that the settings are meant to act that way and that the card stock I'm using must be too thick. I truly thought that all printers pretty much had the same functionality and had only heard good things about the brand before this printer. I finally convinced our director of Finance and Operations to sell this online and buy a new one, so we will go back to the good old days of our HP where everyone could figure out how to operate it by themselves. Buyers beware, you might be unhappy with the lack of intuitive features on this device.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW....Worth Every Penny!!!

Pros: Incredible product, I bought somewhere else for more $$$. But worth every penny. The output on this machine is as near photo quality (on high quality paper) as you will find anywhere. Easy to setup via the built in pagescope webpage from your computer.

I use mine to scan to email as a PDF and I also have it setup to scan to a folder on my Home Server, which is great for scanning files (JPEG) in color that are too big for email to handle.

I dont use the USB connection since scanning with these types of devices is more cumbersome via usb than if it is setup as a NETWORK scanner.

Duplex scanning and printing out of the box, heavy duty unit, note the weight, this is a well built All-In-One

Cons: Plan to order a set of toners for this unit as it only comes with starter toners....All types of devices in this SOHO category are this way, so dont think for a second that its Konica Minolta is the only company who does this.

A little slow to warm up to get first print out, but knowing what the quality will be, I can live with it.

Other Thoughts: You wont go wrong with this unit, its well built, easy to setup for network and has great output.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Machine

Pros: As advertised it makes beautiful two sided color prints from your computer or its built-in copy, fax, or scanner. It's very quick and quiet when not in use. Excellent power save features. I prefer to print at home than at work. For the price I do not beleive there is a better machine on the market. It uses a web admin interface and if hooked (via a wire) to a wireless hub you can even use all of it's network features wirelessly. I have owned it for 9 months.

Cons: The toner cartridges that come with the printer are "starter" cartridges and are only rated for about 3000 pages. Expect the starter cartridges to not last as long as the toner you will eventually buy.

Other Thoughts: When you first start it up there may be a long initialization. I did not see this specifically referenced in the documentation but it seemed like it had a boot error or something for quite a while and then when I came back later on it was up and running. I owned the Magicolor 2200 DL before this one and the difference is amazing. I love this printer.
