Actually it does work with vista 32/64
- Pros: This is a great card, wonderful and undoubtedly noticeable differences in movies, music, and especially games. I went from only being able to know the whereabouts of enemies by sight, but now I can actually pin point there location by sound, and yes you can even hear pesky noobs with there dead silence in cod4 ;) I use PowerDVD8 and with this card Movies are soo more interactive and intense, the crystalizer enhances the dynamics and emphasizes sharp percussive sounds and transients not to mention this card is THX/Dolby Digital/DTS certified.
- Cons: Ok, there is one issue that deffinately needs to be addressed, As soon as you install Everything off the istallation CD make absolutely sure (if you use vista 32/64) to download the driver update here> [link=http://support.creative.com/downloads/welcome.aspx?nDriverType=11#type_11]Be sure to download the vista one, not the 7 unless your using 7[/link] There are issues with the drivers from the cd so just download them after you install the drivers/software off the cd.
- Other Thoughts: "Astrocreep137" I would agree in saying that many companies need to allocate more resources in producing quality drivers in a timely manner, but if you actually know how hard it is to write drivers you wouldn't be so negative towards them. They have to write coding that tells windows/the card/every application how to operate the card in every game, movie, program, song, and application and to do so without crossing over other drivers and coding and causing our old faithful blue screen of death ;) . I myself will admit to sucking at writing drivers but that's because it's not easy to do. (I'm sure there are ppl that may read this review that are capable of writing set drivers and for that you have my respect)
Good product with terrible support
- Pros: Works well, easy to install, easy to configure.
- Cons: The I/O drive did not work properly. Spent over a week emailing Creative support trying to get it working. Creative support is the worst I have ever dealt with, worse than Microsoft Xbox support.
The agents have very little knowledge and simply point you to support articles on the website. Finally got them to admit the product was bad and needed to be replaced.
They refused to RMA it unless I pay shipping, I did finally get them to agree to cover the shipping but by then it was to late, I returned to Newegg for worry free replacement.
- Other Thoughts: Have always loved Creative products and this is the first I had trouble in 10 years.
I will never by another product from them based solely on the terrible support and service I received.
Newegg rocks! The replacement is on its way, no questions asked.

Works great
- Pros: Sounds way better with movies and games.
Games are much more in depth I can hear them coming from any direction
front panel is great to have in stead of taking up the jacks in the rear.
One touch game mode selection.
- Cons: NONE
- Other Thoughts: From what i had read before i got this. People were having trouble installing the I/O drive. I plugged in the drive to the card before i installed it in my computer and it recognized it right away. Once the computer started i stuck the disk in and installed everything On in, then went to www.creative.com for the drivers simple as that.(for me anyway) Great improvement over my onboard HD audio.
Sound Blasting (not a Typo)
- Pros: Works great with windows 7
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: I like that they color coded the input jacks for easy speaker hook up.
Great Sound
- Pros: When you are big into games like I am you want a sound card that makes the games sound as realistic as possible. in my opinion having a sound card like this one will make your games sound much better then any on-board sound. That's why they make them Easy to install and works great.
- Cons: Nothing mine came with no problems.
