Excellent card
- Pros: Sound quality, noise and dynamics are super. For its quality I think it's the least expensive out there.
- Cons: 64 bit drivers. Only beta, but I can't make them work in XP 64. ByrdMan, would you enlighten me as to what you've done to make them work so well? Thanks
- Other Thoughts: Athlon AX2 5600, 8 gig of RAM.
Awesome for recording
- Pros: Great little recording break out box. Very low noise. If you want to record guitar this is great. I use it for that and recording a micro korg I have. Took a while to firgure out how to work it but it sounds awesome now. I run it though a mixer first.
- Cons: Not really a con but be aware the the jacks are like mono in and mono out. Also you need to have powered speakers with 2 inputs for left and right if you want to get sounds out of it.
- Other Thoughts: This is not a gaming card. It's an audio recording card. Good drivers too.
m-audio delta 44
- Pros: I did not realize how noisy my sound blaster audigy cards were during recording until I hooked this baby up! I must admit that it did take a day or so to finally understand that the inputs and outputs are paired and not individual stereo lines but once I got that figured out the result was super clean noiseless audio recordings. I'm running windows xp 64bit and the beta drivers off the website work great. Unfortunately no vista drivers exist but who wants to run multitracking on vista? Asio works superb with this card. No more latency during multitracking and computer peak moniters are right on the dot. I'm going to upgrade to the delta 1010 so I can record 5 tracks at the same time which would make the bands that come to my garage studio muy happy-o. this is a must have for any home studio unless you like the crackles and pops of conventional soundcards.
- Cons: The inputs and outputs are paired meaning that you have 2 stereo inputs and outputs NOT 4. I was under the impression that each imput and output was a seperate stereo line.
- Other Thoughts: make sure you have a good preamp for any devices that you run into this card because it is designed only for sound capture and output processing which is fine because that means whatever volume you put through this device is untouched and records as is.
