5 out of 5 eggsNice Little Card

Pros: Easy to install. Downloaded drivers from the site. Expand W7 folder. Click Setup.exe. Done.

Cons: No plug n play install.

Other Thoughts: If you have onboard sound, make sure to diable it in bios before you install the drivers for this card. Otherwise the system will not know what to do.

5 out of 5 eggsWindows 7 64-bit support!

Pros: Inexpensive, great sound quality, Windows 7 support. I'm no audiophile, but the sound quality is at least as good if not better than the old riser card that came with my motherboard.

Cons: It wasn't free? I don't know why other reviewers have had so many issues with the drivers for this card in the past. The box I received has a "Windows 7 Ready" sticker on the front, and the installation from the driver disc went flawlessly for me.

Perhaps this is a new revision with an updated driver disc. Either way, it never hurts to go to a manufacturer's website and download the most current drivers for any product you buy.

Other Thoughts: I have an older Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus motherboard that uses a custom riser card for the onboard sound. When that card failed, I didn't want to replace the entire motherboard, nor did I need an extravagant sound card.

This card was cheap and got the job done. I highly recommend it for anyone who needs to replace their onboard sound, or who has an older sound card not supported in Windows 7.

5 out of 5 eggsVery acceptable sound quality!

Pros: C-Media chip you see. It reproduces sound in one of my ubuntu builds when I couldn't get the onboard SiS or a newer Via chip card to work at all! I didn't have to install any drivers or other software to use this in ubuntu of course, most hardware drivers being already installed in the machine with the OS. I had to select the proper configuration-meh. Works great. Can't really comment on the vender supplied drivers-except to say-sounds like a bummer.

Cons: None discovered at this point.

Other Thoughts: This is the ONLY low profile card I could find-so bonus, now I finally get to use that tiny little micro-mini atx case that's been collecting dust for 6 years or so. Music files and broadband radio sound as good as in my other computers with pricier sound boards. If I was putting this into an XP machine I'd probably let the OS install it using the Internet since C-media drivers are in abundance there. I almost didn't buy this because of the negitive feedback-but heck- but glad I did. Had to get my two cents worth in-lol!

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Card

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Installed drivers that came with the product, and the system now took an extra 3-5 minutes to boot. Uninstalled the sound driver, downloaded the newest drivers, and now there is a horrible buzzing sound whenever any sound is played.

Tried for 2 hours trying different drivers and I can't get rid of the nasty buzzing so the card/drivers must be broken.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this card, I will be returning this item like the others.

1 out of 5 eggsCard is garbage

Pros: None

Cons: Card was installed and then system booted. XP found hardware and canceled as notified by included instructions. Booted the drivers cd (looks like a burnt copy with a sticker label) and proceeded to wait the 25 minutes it took to install. (this is a brand new system with nice specs. Install completed and forced a reboot. On the way down, system blue screened with a parity error and now wont boot with the card in. Have tried swapping out memory but didnt change anything.
