5 out of 5 eggsBring back XP

Pros: XP was the greatest Operating System ever put on the market by Windows.

Cons: Microsoft moving away from this O/S and going on to Windows 7 then Windows 8.1 (Now the only reason I would ever consider getting a MAC).

5 out of 5 eggsFanastic OS

Pros: Fantastic OS. Even if it cannot support more than 4 GB of ram, why get more if the OS runs PERFECT with just 4 GB.

Cons: Not a 64-bit system, can only support up to 4 GB of RAM

Other Thoughts: Best OS on the market, hands down

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: If you are building a computer for a specific purpose and it involves networking, performance, or just about anything else - go with XP and forget the headaches. This is a well developed OS with lots of support at this point. While Vista is great, this is a 'fail-safe' for most purposes.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsAs advertised - OEM XP

Pros: Pop in the CD (hit F6 to add AHCI drivers) and it loads.

Cons: Need to register within 30 days, but easy to do online, or you can get the automated registration number by phone in just a couple of minutes.

Other Thoughts: Why am I building computers when I don't have an internet connection?

5 out of 5 eggsI like XP

Pros: It works like I expect XP to; very smooth and without a lot of drama and crashes. Very stable OS that I have come to enjoy using over the last few years.

Excellent for gaming and anything else that you can think of.

Cons: That I didn't start using XP Pro until now. Wish the desktop and windows were a little more customizable like Vista. This is very minor, but just a wish.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from XP Home for an aging system just because I wanted to try XP Pro and I wanted to get it before it was no longer available. Same stability as Home that I can tell. Works great. My favorite OS from Microsoft, although Vista is starting to look OK.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like it should!

Pros: I have an HP HDX 9000 laptop with Vista pre-installed. I HATE VISTA!!! I had no option to have XP Pro installed on the machine at the time I purchased it. So I was "stuck." However, I figured out how to do a dual boot configuration and now I'm running both OSs. I HIGHLY doubt I'll ever select the "Vista" option at boot again!!

Cons: The fact that XP asks for SATA drivers (via the F6 option) at the initial loading process - on a FLOPPY - is ludicrous! The vast majority of laptops nowadays do not have floppy drives, and you can't use a USB flash drive. Sure you can try an external USB floppy drive, but not all will work. See below how I remedied this situation!

Other Thoughts: In order to load my SATA drivers without the use of a floppy drive, I downloaded the FREE "nLITE" program that allows you to "merge" your drivers in with the XP Pro install. Google them and you'll see that it works perfectly. You can also add other drivers, or remove various features of XP without having to load them first! I haven't read all of the reviews to see if anyone else suggested this, so if they have, I apologize for bringing it up again!

5 out of 5 eggsCustomer Serive review

Pros: When talking to customer service, Mabis my rep, was wonderful and out standing. I will try to work with her every time I need to chat with Customer service. Her knowledge was great and she solved my problems for very quickly. I will work with her again and at any time.

Cons: None, none, and did I say none.

5 out of 5 eggsStill the Best

Pros: It just works! Downgraded from Vista as Vista won't run a lot of the software I use.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Q9300 CPU, ATI Radeon HD 2600XT

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's XP Pro! Installed quick, saves you 5 buck if you wait the 10 minutes to install SP3. Recognized both sata hard drive and sata DVD burner with no problem.

Cons: It didn't recognize the Intel on board graphics correct because the user configuration screen didn't show up correct (which is a first in all the PC Ive built with XP). I just exited it and set it up in windows after correcting the problem in windows.

5 out of 5 eggsWindows XP Pro SP2C

Pros: Any one can say that it is better than Vista (I totally agree). Though this is a pro version it is still home user freindly. An excellent version and unless Microsoft comes up with the next version to match with more perks, I will be using this version until they stop the updates like 98SE

Cons: NTLDR file missing (unknown if this has been corrected with SP3 release) was a major hassel to deal with not having dos accessibilty.

Other Thoughts: Can only get better until updates no longer exsist
