- Pros: Not Vista.
- Cons: It's still Windows, so Caveat Emptor
Hail to the King
- Pros: I've used Windows XP for years, as have pretty much everyone. I bought this recently after a troubled run with XP 64 bit. The language pack is a nice novelty. It is really useful if you know another language or are trying to learn one. Windows XP itself is fast, stable, and does everything you could ever want a computer to do. It outlived Windows Vista and will outlive Windows 7. Eight solid years has produced the most stable and responsive operating system to date.
- Cons: It doesn't run DOS programs. However, you can download the free virtual machine software from Microsoft's site, install DOS (and maybe Windows 3.11) and you'll be good to go.
- Other Thoughts: Go to the Regional and Language Options in the Control Panel then tab over to languages to change the language of your system (menus, etc.). I just wrote a review for Windows! XD
XP is better than vista
- Pros: Installing languages doesn't need product key. Win XP is fast, reliable but this cost a lot. Less bugs than Vista.
- Cons: NEWEGG should have a discount for buying WINDOWS. WHY? Because first of all Windows 7 is otw. And 2nd some ppl use two os to run at one comp. For example... vista ult and xp pro.
XP PRO is Direct x9 graphics.
- Other Thoughts: Just to let you guys know, if you have XP pro preinstall on your dell, hp or etc... You DON'T HAVE to BUY XP PRO SP3(THIS CD). All you got to do is click on "Windows Update and once you're on the net, you double click "Install XP PRO SP3" something like that.
If you don't know what version you got. hold down the "window icon" (but don't let go) + the letter "R" and then you see the "Run ICON." After that you type down "Winver" and press enter. This will allow you to see what version you got.
Hope this help all of you out there. And this save you extra bucks for a nice dinner. =)
