The fourth expansion pack for EverQuest II, Rise of Kunark features hundreds of new quests, promising exciting adventures and encounters, including class Epic Weapon quests for all classes. Rise of Kunark introduces a new playable race, the Sarnak. This dragon-like humanoid inhabits the jungle islands of Timorous Deep, a new starting location for adventurers. Timorous Deep presents a wealth of new content for levels 1-20, and is one of the many new zones being developed for this expansion. Many of these zones are based on favorite gameplay areas from the original EverQuest, such as Karnor's Castle, the Lake of Ill Omen, Sebilis and Veeshan's Peak. Guilds, adventurers, and artisans can expect to benefit from a raised level cap, as all level caps are raised to 80, in addition to new solo, group, and raid content for levels 65-80. Players will also be able to explore this new world astride a new mount -- the rampaging Kunarkian Rhino.

Dozens of new NPCs, as well as a host of new weapons and armor await players as they explore and unravel the mysteries surrounding the beautiful, yet dangerous continent of Kunark; note: This expansion pack requires the full version of EverQuest II to play.

1 out of 5 eggsEverload

Pros: If you like to download huge files that take hours, that's a pro.

Cons: Good, it's finally downloaded. Let me go in this direction, ooops, another several hour download. I would like a game that doesn't require a monthly subscription fee rivaling cable.

Other Thoughts: The attack sequences are generic move around and don't get hit. The computer character decides what manual attacks to use when the player hits the attack button. Great graphics, lame character control.

5 out of 5 eggsBest game for your $$$

Pros: Stunning game with so much to do that it will keep you occupied for hundreds and hundreds of hours. Now if you want to play 24/7 then you will burn through content very fast with this or any game but if you play a few hours a day this game will last years! The graphics put WoW to shame!

Cons: Can be very addictive if your personality is prone to addictions.

Other Thoughts: They recently installed multi-core CPU support so the game runs better than ever!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy - Better than WoW!

Pros: Beautiful graphics, extensive gameplay, billions of things to do. Many different classes to choose from, as well as skill tree (depends on which expansion(s) you have), quests, and dieties.

One of the coolest aspects for some people is the player house system EQ2 offers. There are thousands of different items to customize your house.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: Nicknamed "Evercrack" for obvious reasons.
Many people like WoW, but being an old WoW player, I can tell you that this game far surpasses WoW (in my opinion, of course.)

WoW seems to be almost all hype. The only thing I like better about WoW (and that's 1/10000), is that they currently have a capture-the-flag based PvP mode. Other than that, EQ seems to put WoW to shame with all the different items you can find / discover / loot / buy.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Now im normally a WOW guy, been playing it for over two years so its hard for me to play a lot of other MMO's because i feel wow is more fast paced and fluid with gamestyle, Everquest actually feels the best out of all the other ones its great. And on top of that you have so many choices between characters, race and class. The depth is something WOW cant touch (a couple of 70's and you get bored real fast) its awesome!

Cons: Takes a long time to install, a given. Patching took around 3 hours but worth it once you are good to go.

5 out of 5 eggsWow...just wow.

Pros: This is the best bang for the buck. You get the core game of Everquest 2, ALL the expansion packs including the new Rise of Kunark, and ALL of the adventure packs. All in one game! Just wow. The graphics are great, there are unlimited quests, a massive amount of items, a HUGE world to explore, and its very easy to solo the game early on...oh and its FUN! Hands down this game is the best bang for the buck on the market right now.

Cons: Well you do need a VERY nice system to run it maxed out. I get quite a bit of lag in populated areas on my system (see below). And if you are creating a new account you need to shell out another $40 to activate all the expansion packs and adventure packs. Kinda cruel but its rather worth it since it is only a one time payment and you still get the free 30 days.

Other Thoughts: My system is 2G Gskill RAM, AMD X2 2.8ghz processor, and a PNY 8600GTS 512mb card. I do get exstensive lag in populated areas on max settings. But overall...if you love MMO' need this game! (OOGA)

5 out of 5 eggsThe best mmorpg on the market

Pros: Awesome graphics, rich history and storyline, great music and art, more race/class combos than other mmorpgs, tons of quests, active ongoing development. Oh, and it's fun.

Cons: Requires powerful video card, cpu, and at least 1GB memory -- which even then can push it to the limits.

Other Thoughts: My only complaint with EQ2 is it is dumbed down for casual, new, and even experienced players, but then, this is a problem I see with all mmorpgs. Dying has little consequence, for example. Back in EQ1 times, if your character dies, it could sometimes be extremely difficult to go and find your corpse and get your things back. Now, in EQ2, Wow and other mmorpgs, you die and it's no big deal really. In EQ2 your character spawns back near the zone-in area and you can just start over. These games are better when dying and corpse-retrieval is difficult, because it forces players and groups to work harder at preventing deaths. I remember times in EQ1 where my group would be in a complete panic about getting into a situation where we could possibly all die and be faced with hours ahead of corpse retrieval. Sometimes we lost those fights, but sometimes we won, and those were the greatest times I ever had in any game to date. Putting aside those thoughts, EQ2 is currently the best.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: By far, this is the best expansion.

Cons: There was no map in this one. Not a big deal though.

Other Thoughts: If you liked the original Kunark from EQ1, this one you will sure enjoy.

5 out of 5 eggsEverQuest 2

Pros: Best graphics I have seen in an online game. One of the biggest worlds I have ever played in for a online game. Trade skilling is easy and a lot of fun just buy it self. Music the rocks and changes as your movement in combat increases. 80 lvls for chr, trade skill lvl and guild lvl. The people are great to play with and there is a very very large population. Any day you find time to play there will be a large amount of ppl to group with.

Cons: PVP servers rock.
RPG/PVP servers.
RPG servers.
PVE servers.
Come to Nagafen server ever and its pvp.
19 Different races
24 different classes
So many more options than WOW or any other online game out there.

Other Thoughts: I played WOW for a long time till a friend had me try everquest 2. Now I can't even look at WOW. Everquest 2 Graphics blow it out of the water and the engine they use in everquest for graphics just keeps getting better. WOW just stays the same.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Graphics, music , spoken NPC dialogue, TONS of content, great players, fun quests, detail for character customization, exciting combat.

Cons: Um, there is a learning curve? Not a con to me but might be to others.

Other Thoughts: The games is so much fun. I came from the original EQ and loved Kunark so saw the expansion and bought it. This has the full EQ2 game and ALL expansions released plus a bunch of adventure packs. I always wanted to make a Sarnak so this has just been a great ride. Can't stop playing!! Found a great guild and met awesome mature people to game with. Buy it!
