4 out of 5 eggsGood product

Pros: Good product. The more you use it, the better it gets. Doesn't seem to be very resource intensive either.

Cons: Rebate. I'm not sure I'll ever see it. I ordered this 8/16 and sent in the $40 rebate immediately. It's now 12/5. They say they've had my submission for 13 weeks now (thats 1/4 of a year), and it's been approved, but they have no clue when it will mail.

1 out of 5 eggsNo rebate after 120 days

Pros: its ok as speech recognition goes.

Cons: rebate is yet to be honored.

Other Thoughts: This is one company for which you will need to track a rebate. Make copies of our paperwork before sending, etc. I'm over 12 weeks and their maximum was 10 weeks. Here's the Cust Servic. Here is the number for you. Rest assured, You will need it. (866) 360-2343. I can't prove it, but it feels like there some "dirty play" going on. Nuance - I recommend you audit your rebate processing to see if everyone there is clean.

Nuance constantly tries to up-sell me with phone calls and email. However, they should hold up their side of the deal if they want to up-sell me by sending my rebate to me. What a terrible experience I've had. Mostly wish I had not bought from them. Two long phone calls and the status even indicates that my rebate is approved. hmmmmm.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect

Pros: Very easy to install and get running. Voice training only takes 10 minutes and is about 97% accurate in speech recognition.

Cons: Not 100% accurate in speech recognition because it changes/ edits words. Every time I say the f - bomb the program writes "freak". I say the sh@@ and it writes "shiz_". Another swear came out "butt_". I guess this bad language filter would be great if you are a religious person, but I am 13 year old trying to prove how mature I am with my adult language.

4 out of 5 eggsJust For The Headset

Pros: After the Rebate at the headset costs only 9.99. This headset has a high quality microphone and is worth well beyond the 9.99.

Cons: Don't Know

Other Thoughts: I have version 10 installed and haven't really tried the improvements in version 11. I bought version 10 to try and make my HTPC take voice commands. It really didn't work too well for me, but I'm hoping version 11 will do better there. I have used the headset with a forgien language program and I can report that I spent 6 weeks in France speaking simple French with what native speakers called a "good" American accent. I credit the "tell me more" computer based language course and this headset

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product for dication in Word or to launch programs

Pros: This product was incredibly easy to install (aside from the lengthy installation) and worked fairly quickly out of the box. The training exercise to fine tune the microphone doubles as a quick tutorial; however, the right side bar makes the capabilities for a given application easy to find and learn as you go. The most practical use of this version is for dictating in Microsoft Word (or other word processors). Can easily launch any program but after that, this version has many limitations but I was expecting that given this was the least capable of the software suite.

Happy with my purchase and plan to use for dictation quite often and computer control when I want to feel like a military commander.

Cons: Wish there were more commands to escape from text dictation or to moreso "Control the keyboard." When using a non-coded application like iTunes, it is a guessing game on how to control when more keystroke commands could make it user friendly. Otherwise, very impressed.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall, not bad

Pros: Great recognition ability, picks up common phrases and commands very quick and efficiently

Cons: Might be a little difficult to use if you have an accent

Other Thoughts: I would recommend it if you speak clear english and can talk in a slow and consistent pace

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Software

Pros: The over all quality of the product is very nice. The voice recognition very well and the software is over all very helpful and fun to use.

Cons: The software isn't always on target when it comes to words that sound similar but no other complaints.

5 out of 5 eggsMiracle Software

Pros: If I could give it a thousand stars I could. After configuring the software to my voice by reading Kennedy's inaugural address and allowing it to search my text documents for vocabulary and syntax, the software continues to be almost 100% accurate. Also, the program has encouraged me to enunciate more clearly for reasons beyond me because it works through normal speech just fine. I can now write papers with ease as fast as I can read them. Spelling is not an issue either.

Cons: This program takes some getting accustomed too. For instance, saying, "delete," typed the word delete. I was supposed to say, "delete that," in order to get rid of unwanted text.

Other Thoughts: Voice recognition has come a long way from its conception. Sadly, automated help services must not have realized this yet. :P

4 out of 5 eggsvery good but additional hardware needed

Pros: Overall quite easy to use and easy to train program. DO NOT SKIP TRAINING. and becomes more accurate the more you use it. It does require some work on your part to learn commands etc. I noted a marked improvement using a $35 microphone when I added the Asus Xonar u3 usb sound card which I got for $30 as an open package. Night and day difference.

Cons: Includes crummy headset/mic which can give people a bad impression of program. You really need a digital input like the xonar for decent results.
