Roxio Game Capture HD Pro

Pros: Update:
-Will record pc gameplay if you run windowed fullscreen
-Makes beautiful videos at 15000kbps bitrate, I didn't try lower but I did notice 1500kbps was terrible.

Cons: -Everyone that owns two radeon cards and runs crossfire know that if you run windowed it will disable one gpu, so running one card to record sucks.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what changes when you run full screen but this definitely needs to be fixed, this is a terrible issue.
I bumped it to 3 stars since it does work for the most part on pc and seems like it should work very well on consoles.
I bought it for pc though so I will probably get the AVerMedia Live Gamer HD so i can run both of my graphics cards.

Pros: -Should record your console?

Cons: -All I get are blue screens with most full screen games, and the program minimizes my games when I go full screen windowed.

Other Thoughts: Just garbage, can't return it so it or even RMA it with the manufacturer so it looks like I get to put it on that "auction site".

Basically even within 30days if you have an issue with the hardware not working properly, you might as well just throw it away since no one will take it back or allow you to RMA it.
I won't be buying anything Roxio again.

Pros: Great quality video and sound, easy software.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Don't spend any of your money on a more expensive card. This matches the quality of the Elgato. I strongly recommend.

Pros: Worked for 2 months

Cons: Warranty for this device is 30 days. Tech support is free for 14 days only.

Other Thoughts: For it's price I expected more. A 30 day warranty is to short, after 2 months it failed and I have no recourse. I will replace it but it will be with a product that has a 1 year warranty.

Pros: None

Cons: You need at minimum of two more HDMI cables to hook this thing up. For $150 you'd think they would supply you with all the cables you need. Definitely not worth what it costs.

Pros: Card still works, still has good video quality, and now I have good audio. I recently figured out that is was my Television making the awful. So after messing with it a bit I got it to where the screeching sounds doesn't appear anymore.

Cons: Cons are that the programs both the capture and editing take quite a while to respond and open up. The only reason I got this was for livestreaming, but now I only make Youtube Videos. other cons are that the Cap Card doesn't work with older systems like the PS2 and Gamecube. Or older systems like I wish they would.

Other Thoughts: I still give it a 1 egg because it still uses HDD space. If you purchase this and don't notice it than that's basically no one's fault but your own. If you want a Cap Card for PS3 or anything else I say get something else other than this. Roxio's support doesn't help with any issues on here. I won't bother stating anything on it, but If you purchase this card than I say good luck to you. I got it because it was on sale and it was a bad mistake.

Pros: - The captured video is good quality
- The interface of the software is quite good
- The price

Cons: - Both the capture and editing software this comes with freezes extremely frequently and pressing End Task in task manager won't even quit it sometimes
- Pass-through image has just a little bit of fuzziness around very bright colours
- Requires a fair bit of adjusting the Brightness & Contrast settings on both your monitor and in the capture software (since the settings there affect the pass-through image) to get a good balance of good picture in the recording and for you while you play
- Only records 60 fps from component, not from HDMI (not a huge complaint for me)

Other Thoughts: Can't complain about the picture quality of this. I should have realized that for $130 this wasn't going to be as good as an ElGato or something. The software it comes with freezes and crashes very regularly in spite of being on a relatively powerful computer.

I would recommend you save up a bit extra and get an ElGato, Black Magic, or AverMedia depending on your setup and steer clear of the Roxio Gamecap HD Pro.

Pros: *Capture Quality
*Video Throughput (can take in component video and output to HDMI)

Cons: *Does not work with OBS
*Might not work with Xsplit (unofficial fix may not work)
*Capture Program uses over 200,000k system memory when streaming (OBS offers more customization for cheaper process)
*Capture Program isn't very robust (no overlay for webcam, Twitch Chat, no mic input except when actively streaming live)
*Cannot use HDMI video and RCA audio at the same time

Other Thoughts: people have been complaining of the delay between live gameplay and what actually gets displayed on their stream - during testing I started out with 5 seconds of delay, but by the time my session ended it was 5 minutes or more - not sure if this is the capture program unable to keep up with transcoding or my upload speed not able to spit out the data to the net fast enough - in any case, due to the work-arounds needed to get things working in proper order you would probably be better off spending a few extra dollars to get a device that works better with other programs (such as Xsplit or OBS) because while the Roxio device itself is decent enough, it shoehorns you into using Roxio's capture program, which could use some work and functionality.

Device is good for RECORDING gameplay, but not streaming it live.

Pros: There are only a few pros to this product released by Roxio. Really the only beneficial one is the fact that it supports HDMI input and output. This is all I can come up with.

Cons: This product does not go well with Windows 8 at all. The product will not work and most of the time will freeze when in use with windows 8. Also the website is not very stable. Also the servers for Roxio tend to be down quite a bit and do not allow me to access their website. The customer support is atrocious. I asked one specific question in a dozen different ways so they could understand it and they were still unable to understand what my problem was. Instead they acted is if I were at fault and tried to make me feel as if I was insignificant. All they care about is getting your money. Once they get their money, the rest is up to you. Good luck to all who want to purchase this product but I highly recommend buying something else. This products price should be cut in half.

Pros: Great for the 360 fan... that's about it.

Cons: As for the PS3 gamer, you should take your money elsewhere. This is the biggest load of worthless plastic ever.

You will NOT be able to run/record your game VIA the HDMI cable, but instead are forced to buy extra equipment NOT included such as the component cables, and you will NOT get the full HDMI effect.

The video quality lacks in definition and becomes fuzzy. Making vision difficult for those First person moments. You will NOT get the 60 frames per second and you will looks lack of interest with this device fast.

Other Thoughts: Not much i can say other than the fact that I was suckerd into something that sounds too good to be true when it comes to the PS3 world of gaming.

Wish I could give this peace of $#@%! back to newegg... sadly, after 30 days... YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK!
