1 out of 5 eggsNot as good as Norton

Pros: Fast

Cons: Gives false positives, did not stop a few things, From time to time Webroot SecureAnywhere causes Google searches not to show up, I would have to turn off the web protection or turn off the Webroot altogether

Other Thoughts: Need more improvements before I would recommend it

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Antivirus

Pros: This software keeps me protected very well. I've put it to the test on some downloads.... ehh hem, I mean... it works great. Scan times are the fastest I've ever seen and the footprint on my system resources is hardly noticeable. Highly recommended

Cons: Maybe a customer loyalty discount program would be nice... I've had webroot for years now and even a $10 discount would be great

5 out of 5 eggsFastest, lightest , most effective AV out there

Pros: It has a tiny amount of memory usage 544K, plus no hassles with downloading updates every few minutes. It is done on the cloud.

Complete scan time is about 2 minutes. I don't know how they do it.

Cons: Not really a con, but first time you scan it will question some of your programs. Even Chrome if it is a new release. This is a one time thing, and you just approve the programs and it is never seen again.

Other Thoughts: I have tried them all. This one has the best protection with no impact on your pc performance.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but not perfect.

Pros: In my tests, this blocked all recent viruses well. I didn't thoroughly test it, but gave it a good workout.

Cons: I, too, am having some problems with false positives. Other antivirus software often tries to remove other installed antivirus software, which webroot is (possibly correctly) detecting as a "threat" - because the software is about to remove webroot!

Other Thoughts: Signature-based-only antivirus products are going by the wayside; most products do signature protection fairly well. Webroot is one of them. When I'm looking for a paid solution, I recommend products that do a good job of detecting new and emergent threats. Webroot falls short on obscure and new threats when compared to other solutions available here.

That having been said, the antivirus solution is what I would consider "sufficient" to protect the average user. It's not going to protect the 12-year-old delinquent who visit oft-updated Chinese or Russian software cracking websites, but it is going to protect an average user from the next big virus outbreak. If the behavior detection matures a bit, this is going to be a great product.

5 out of 5 eggsbest you can get

Pros: fast and effective, doesn't slow computer down.

Cons: noda

Other Thoughts: to the last reviewer that states he fixes computers he probably a unlicensed hobbyist work at home fix friends computer good guy. i have been righting software and fixing computers for 35 years. AVG is well known and used by many though no matter what people may think its not a effective anivirus , i have fixed countless computers where AVG was infected with a virus mostly rootkit or trojan downloaders, yes that means the AVG antivirus program to protect the computer has failed so bad that it is itself infected. fact 98% of computers i fix with AVG installed are infected. this is why webroot would positive AVG. fact secureanywhere was tested by 3 of the larges antivirus certification labs in the USA and tested a perfect 100% detection rate and is the first to do so also was the fastest. yes at first the pre release beta version of secureanywhere did give a few false positives as in most beta versions do. not the anymore. personaly i have freinds well lets just say they go to web pages

1 out of 5 eggsNeeds Improvement

Pros: Small footprint, Fast scans, Doesn't "conflict" with other protection software

Cons: I fix computers and I am seeing some issues with Webroot SecureAnywhere. It is giving false positives. For example, Webroot quarantined a sound driver and flagged AVG Antivirus as malicious. It is not very effective as well. I know there are no protection software that will stop everything but I am seeing more people than normal get infected with this software installed on their computer.

Other Thoughts: Good start but needs improvement. I want to recommend this software because it is fast and I always liked Spysweeper but it is just not ready for prime time.
