3 out of 5 eggsFun Game

Pros: This is a fun game, but not of the caliber of some of the most recent games out there. The concept, going back in time with modern weapons is what drew me to the game. In that respect it worked out pretty good, and overall it's an OK game (for about $20.)

Cons: Voice acting, with the exception of Dexter, stank. It has a very closed in feeling; a very linear progress that worked OK but cheapened the experience. The period guns are neat, and the modern weapons work out OK, but probably could have been better. The AI is somewhat lame, though they will all start targeting you if you get too aggressive. Which adds to that tight path linear progression element. There's only really two time periods, WWI and Civil War, with Indians thrown into one of them. The time period with Romans is more about the opposition than Roman soldiers so it offered little challenge. The storyline is weak and definitely could have used more thought.

Other Thoughts: I like this game and have played it through a couple of times. The hardest part for me "Stairway to Petrovich", where you're in a Zeppelin getting peppered by Germans. I can't get through this on hard mode as the thing invariably blows up. Otherwise it's walk in the park on the most difficult setting. If the AI was better, and it was longer and/or more varied I'd rate this up to four eggs. Graphics are old school so 5 is way off. I'm not a hardcore gamer though so my expectations are somewhat low and this did OK for me. $36 was too much however. Look for this in a bargain bin or something.

4 out of 5 eggsGood times

Pros: This is a scripted first person shooter with missions in several different time periods (Civil War, World War 1, World War 2, etc.).

It was fun using the authentic weapons from those time periods and it was also fun using newer weapons in those early time periods. I especially enjoyed the Civil War missions.

During certain points, there are a lot of enemy bots on the screen at once, with many different ways to kill them. Waves and waves of enemy bots!

The graphics were good also. The landscape and scenery for each time period seems very authentic and looked quite good to me.

Very quick load times between missions (less than 5 seconds).

Cons: One thing that could have been better was the quality of some of the sounds in the game. I thought the weapons were not represented very well by the sounds they made. Yes, I'm being picky here.

It seemed a little short. I finished it in less than 20 hours.

Other Thoughts: Just finished the game and I will replay it at least one more time. I played it with the highest difficulty ("hair on my chest" setting), with all of the eye candy cranked all the way up. Good times!

My system.......
Opteron 185
Creative XFi sound
HD 5970 video
Vista 32
21" CRT 1920x1440

2 out of 5 eggsgreat game but big issues

Pros: cool story-line, great idea for a game. some cool guns too.

Cons: i still dont get it, but this game is almost unplayable on my system because of terrible frame rates. what i dont understand is how my system can run crysis on high and very high at around 25-30 fps, but this game at about 5 fps. it mainly doesnt make sense because of the games graphics, which look about the same as medal of honor allied assault...

Other Thoughts: the AI is also terrible. i really wish this coulda been a good games, but it isnt.
