Great Nic
- Pros: Excellent product, supports full hardware ipv4 and ipv6 acceleration. Works with Vista 64, low cpu usage under load, and gave me an excuse to finally use a 1xpcie slot.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: It won't supercharge games, but if your network adapter has a crab on it this board will make a performance difference. Especially if you are running a single or dual core system.
good for gaming
- Pros: works smoothly on my gaming rig.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: there has been a long lasting argument on whether a seperate nic card would help out on gaming (1st person shooters) well i decided to be the ginny pig. of course dload and upload don't change as that is set by your settings and provider but,
w/o having proof and no ping difference, nothing I think I am getting better registry. I have no proof, no score difference I can prove but I "Feel" like i'm being able to relax a little more. and that is on what I consider a good pc. asus striker II Extremne, q9550,8800gtx's in sli liquid cooled, 4 gig patriot sli 8500 ram. so it's not cause it's older processor but again I can't prove it but I'm happy I tried it
Worked great for ESXi server
- Pros: Installed in a Dell 2950 server for use with Vmware ESXi server. I needed another NIC that was compatible with the ESXi hypervisor. I have not had a single problem.
- Cons: These were twice as expensive than the nics I was using for the MS Virtual server that I had loaded on that server, but those NIC's were not supported.
