5 out of 5 eggsquality upgrade

Pros: good driver support in linux kernel 3.17, worked out of the box in debian with the iwlwifi package from nonfree. Bluetooth fired right up with bluez and blueman packages.

Cons: no documents, not disk, just a card in a bare plastic package. not really a con if you dont need those things but be aware this is oem replacement, so it comes with exactly the card and a clear plastic wrapper and nothing else.

Other Thoughts: This card replaced the Realtek RTL8723AE wifi/bt combo card that came in my toshiba s855, it never had a good driver and worked poorly. this one seems to be solid with a connection that has stayed at about 70% for a month. My old card would range from 35% to 75%, this is a welcome change.

1 out of 5 eggsPOOR

Pros: By the time I received my parts to make my NUK work, build & install programs I found that my wireless card would not pick up from my wireless router no more than 18" to 24" away. I called Intel, got a case number and Intel said that the wires to my antenna was not connected, they were. Now my 1 month is over.to get a refund.

Cons: Does not work more than 18"~24". Moral, when something from NewEgg does not work, send it back for a refund immediately. Remember, nice guys finish last. I would give this item zero (0) eggs! Worthless waste of my time.

Other Thoughts: Says it all.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so Good

Pros: Installed very easily with drivers from Intel website. Bluetooth works great (if you have problems with bluetooth try changing your Routers Channel settings from Auto to Manual then find a channel that does not conflict with bluetooth and wifi) Only had it a couple of days so I'll update if anything goes wrong

Cons: Was expecting much higher speeds but its still a huge improvement from my 150 mps N card. Almost doubled my speed. Knocked of an egg because if I get more than 25 feet away from router the speed starts dropping fast.

Other Thoughts: for 20$, it was a great upgrade, glad I did it.

1 out of 5 eggsWifi works, no bluetooth

Pros: Wi-fi works well.

Cons: No bluetooth. Standard Intel installation package (from http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/wireless/can-6235) doesn't make a difference. Tried older packages with the same result.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't make sense at all: I bought it because if bluetooth and it doesn't exist, I suspect.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great in an Asus G75VX and G55VW.
Considerably more reliable than the Azurewave wifi/bt combo adapter that laptop came with.

Cons: Not necessarily compatible with all laptops

Other Thoughts: Try to verify compatibility before buying one of these for a laptop. Intel won't provide support since this is an OEM product. If you are having trouble, try uninstalling the laptop manufacturer's wireless utility. In the case of my laptop, the Asus WirelessConsole program was interfering with bluetooth operation. Everything worked great after uninstalling that.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks good, reception could be better.

Pros: The reception on this chip is not bad, though I picked up more wireless routers with my Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 adapter than with this. I also got about 15-20% better signal strength. The one big advantage to the Intel adapter is that the software that supports it is much better written. If only the engineering would catch up.

Cons: Could have a bit better signal strength. Still very good, not enough to take and entire egg off, if only we could take 1/2 eggs off.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it - get a dongle instead

Pros: None that I can think of.

Cons: Price is way too high for a piece of OEM equipment that ships in a clamshell.

Bluetooth does not work with Windows 8.1, even with latest Intel drivers. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times with no luck. Intel will not provide even a token amount of support since this product is for OEM installation.

Product listing says it includes an antenna, but this is false. I was actually able to get the wireless (not bluetooth) working in Win 8 and it could not find any wireless networks. I live in an apartment complex, so it should've discovered at least 20 of them. All my other devices have no trouble finding a plethora of networks in my apartment.

Other Thoughts: Total garbage. A 5 dollar cheapo dongle would've worked better for my needs. Stay away from this product if at all possible, especially if you need Bluetooth in Windows 8.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for my NUC

Pros: Bought this for my Intel NUC / HTPC. Does its job, get very strong WiFi signal strength from my upstairs router, bluetooth work flawlessly at 25'.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsUsual Intel Quality

Pros: Works and works well. Dual-band, and fairly solid BT stack included. Fully IPv6 compliant. A worthwhile upgrade for supported laptops . . . or desktops, if using a mPCIe-to-PCIe adapter, or desktop PCs with builtin wireless.

WIn 8 compatible.

Cons: Not really a con, but since I see this listed as a con from many people over many other OEM-packaged networking devices, make sure you have the drivers downloaded before installing.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as an upgrade for an Asus N586DP, which is an AMD APU laptop that ships with a packet-dropping Qualcomm Atheros AR985-or something or other that's only single-band (2.4), would never receive an IPv6 address, and comes with somewhat flaky Bluetooth stack under Windows 8.

Not only does it work with Windows 8 in Secure Boot mode, it also supports the Airplane mode Fn+hotkey switch without any issues, but as always, compatibility with any system is never guaranteed. Do your research before purchasing.

2 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Supposed to work with Linux well.
BT+Wifi support.
Small.

Cons: Dead on arrival.

Other Thoughts: While rebuilding a Zotac HTPC, I bought this to put in. After RMA some hard disks for an unrelated problem I finally got to put it in... and Linux LiveUSBs hang at the bluetooth service startup. Tried a few flavors before giving up. Tried it in my old Linux laptop as well, and the same story.
