Works great
- Pros: works just fine, 2nd one I have working in a business environment
- Cons: none
Presently not a good choice for GNU/Linux
- Pros: Informative, bright, LED
- Cons: Chipset Manufacturer's (Otus) code which supports 802.11n does not compile with current Linux kernel and Open source driver and firmware does not support 802.11n. This adapter's performance was slow in 802.11g even with good signal strength compared to the Linksys WUSB54G it was purchased to replace. I do not recommend.
- Other Thoughts: Don't know how well it works with Microsoft code but if you run Linux and are wanting 802.11n support this adapter is not yet ready for prime time and even does 802.11g poorly in my experience
Recertified not Rewarrantied
- Pros: Worked with both Vista and older 2k system. Works! Has WPS.
- Cons: Not supported past 30-days way to stand behind your product. Also there is no stand accompanying the USB extension. What is one supposed to do with it? Once attached to the dongle you may be inclined to nail it to the wall or perhaps tie it to something. I had to destroy a ziplock container to make a base.
- Other Thoughts: I still like Netgear. Next time I'm going to get one with a base the last internal I had was more difficult to get a good signal. So get a dongle with a base. And I don't know about taking a chance for a cheap price I mean it was only half as much and I think I'd rather pay a little more for some piece of mind. Hopefully it will last beyond the 30-days.
