5 out of 5 eggsMoney well spent

Pros: 1. 3 years later it still works flawlessly.
2. 1/2 acre yard, 2400 sq/ft house... Even by the firepit in the back yard streams media fine.
3. Everything that connects whether it ethernet or wireless, nothing gives it issues.
4. When teamed with a cheap netgear dongle, its great.

Cons: Took me a while to figure out that the security with limit it to 54mb/s if chosen incorrectly...

Other Thoughts: I was considering rethinking my wireless setup and going with a dual band router to accommodate everything connecting, But after seeing as this still sells for 65$

Comparable units with this good of a rep are almost 125$ for 2.4/5ghz

I also purchased mine refurbished.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: It works well when it works.Wireless started acting strange, got to the point where is no longer used.

Cons: Once it starts dropping the wireless signal, it's over.
Tried updating firmware from the netgear site, errors.

Other Thoughts: Works fine even now with 3 of the CAT5E running like snakes in all directions. Wireless is unusable. I have submitted a ticket to Netgear, but for the price I might just buy another router, a Linksys this time.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the trouble and hope there is something we can do.
The standard NETGEAR warranty is as follows:

1 year hardware warranty
90 days phone support
Email support is valid for warranty support period

Please email us at newegg@netgear.com-- be sure to include any valuable information including your serial number.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT router for its time

Pros: I don't use it now because of moving to an area that doesn't support it (currently DSL =P), but it still works and did an excellent job for me.

Cons: Bummer that not all routers are compatible for linking together as repeaters. This one doesn't connect with the current router in the house to use it as an extension.

1 out of 5 eggsDrops connections - unusable

Pros: - it has a usable GUI for my parents

Cons: - drops connections (wired and wireless) 2-3 times a day
- once this happens, must be rebooted to get to the internet
- support says the router must be completely unresponsive for warranty

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: I thought it would be good. In photo it looks just like my other router. When you hold them though, this is total junk by comparison. Never got it to work as repeater as advertised. Not worth the cost of returning it..

Cons: Junk. Bad build quality. Doesn't work as repeater. Can not be loaded with alternative software.

Other Thoughts: Weird how they built it to look just like there more expensive router in photos, but there is no comparison when holding or using them.

Manufacturer Response:

Hey Mark,

We are sorry that you haven't got the WNR2000 to work as a repeater and would like to offer you assistance. Please email our advanced specialists at newegg@netgear.com with what you described in your review and we will be happy to help.

5 out of 5 eggsExellent Product

Pros: Easy to setup
Good Range
Looks Nice

Cons: Netgear router controls page is slow

Other Thoughts: I've had this for a few months now and it's been working great. No issue with uptime, and the speeds are fine. I got it $12 refurbished, which was a steal. Great router overall.

2 out of 5 eggsOften cuts out and needs resetting

Pros: Works well when functional. Good speeds and very easy install.

Cons: Needs resetting every 2-3 days as it stops working. No obvious indicator lights or other malfunction, just stops working. Once reset, it works fine again. Annoyance more than anything.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsSeriously, DO NOT BUY

Pros: Cheap price at 19.99

Cons: EVERYTHING besides the price

Other Thoughts: Had this box for 2 weeks now, Wifi drops once per day for a few minutes.

This is super annoying for a gamer, when u screw ur teammates by dropping for 5 minutes.

Tried hotfix I could search on google, eg, changing the channel, downgrading the firmware etc

If you are not convinced enough and still purchase this router, just search WNR 2000 wifi problems on google and you will see thousands of results

Manufacturer Response:

We want to make sure your games and everything else stay uninterrupted. Please get in contact with us at newegg@netgear.com so that we can get it working correctly. In the email please leave as many details as you can.

We apologize for the problems and hope to get them resolved as soon as possible.

5 out of 5 eggsreliable rputer

Pros: Very reliable, puts up with a lot of abuse from people and environment. high and low temps, being kicked and served Pepsi. I wouldn't recommend anyone subject their gear to this but it's nice to know these survive a 'kids' environment.
As an added plus these are frequently on sale for less than 20 bucks. Got mine for $12 w/free shipping!

Will work as a repeater

Suppports wireless N

Cons: At this price point only one very minor nit, the base stand is non removable once snapped in place. It does arrive with the stand not installed, knowing this if you do not want the base stand (e.g. to mount sideways) just be sure not to snap it in in the 1st place.

100Mbs only (no gigabit) for the wired ports

Will only support WEP when setup as a repeater

Other Thoughts: You can flash these with DD-WRT if you'd like

Pros: worked until 32 days from ordering it

Cons: very dispointed just 32 days after ordering this router it started acting up and not working any more
should have read other reviews about how these somehow right after the 30 days go up it stops working

Manufacturer Response:
