5 out of 5 eggsEasier than expected

Pros: Fast LAN
Flat or tower orientation
Very easy install

Cons: How did that other guy get it for $20?

Other Thoughts: Replaced AT&T DSL Modem/router. Got all the numbers from AT&T before ordering, but only needed sign-in and password. Easiest router install ever.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: Worked great, never had a problem with it at all! Would still be using it if I hadn't switched to cable!

Cons: The user interface takes a little getting use to, but read a little about it and its pretty simple.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, just make sure you check some things before you buy.

Pros: Fast, Reliable, Does what it's supposed to. Saw the GNU license inside, good to see big companies going open source. Haven't had heating problems; I own the v3 version.

Cons: Only one I can think of is that it may be confusing to set up for an inexperienced user, but it's not the product's fault, it's the way DSL works with it's login credentials and whatnot. See Other Thoughts for an explanation.

It was hard to hear the indian woman on the phone giving me the login info? hahaha

Other Thoughts: All you need to do to set it up is call your ISP to find out your login, password, and the settings for two things called VPI and VCI. (That was my experience with Quest/CenturyLink) A paper included confirmed it to work with AT&T, Verizon, Qwest and CenturyLink, but consult your ISP to be sure. Just be assertive that you don't want support, you just want your login credentials for your new modem.

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless

Pros: it showed up on time

Cons: Everything about it. It wouldnt connect to qwest internet, so i decided i would use it as a router and disable the wifi on the qwest modem. all that did was let some computers connect to it, and others wouldnt have internet. After a month of trying different things i got frustrated and decided to see how well it stood up to a hammer. Needless to say i wasted my money, wont buy anyhting netgear again and i have alot of peices of router to clean up.

Other Thoughts: Junk!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat option for DSL subscribers

Pros: Works, strong signal, fast, easy setup

Cons: haven't found any

Other Thoughts: Was replacing a previous version of this very same router/modem combo, it was nice to get a USB on it for NAS, but I have a media server so I don't really use it. My neighbors (100ish feet away) tell me that they pick up my SSID with almost perfect signal.

1 out of 5 eggsThis modem is horrible!

Pros: It gets so hot it can fry bacon.

Cons: It gets so hot that signals are degraded horribly. I had to attach another router to it to offset the load. While there was considerable improvement the thing still gets too hot and degrades performance.

Other Thoughts: I did not buy this from NewEgg... I was moving to a new house and was going from cable to DSL. Bought this at Best Buy so that I could get up ASAP. I figured at first that since I was going from cable to DSL it was only in my head that it was this slow. WRONG! I borrowed a friends basic DSL modem and went from D/L on steam from 250mb to getting a full 1.5mb down. I have a 8mb package and there a ton of DSLAMS in my area. Don't buy into the hype of this unit, while it has alot of good features the hardware design is horrible!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy set up, better signal, easy to interface the router manager

Cons: no improvement with signal to the TV's wireless

Other Thoughts: Good buy if you're not going to be using the LAN ports since they are not Gigabit ports. Used to have to reset our old 2wire router all the time, never have to reset this one.

5 out of 5 eggsVerizon dsl

Pros: Perfect upgrade from my Westell 7500 Verizon dsl connection. Technical support is among the best, easy setup, and a wireless router/dsl modem makes this a best buy. And do yourself a favor always choose Newegg!!!

Cons: stayed with Verizon equipment too long

5 out of 5 eggsWorth picking up...

Pros: Works well with my Qwest DSL. I wasn't happy about having just the few options that Qwest provided, so I decided to try this out. Works great on my 20Mbps ADSL. One of my favorite features is the USB port that allows you to connect a USB device to share across your network.

Cons: None so far.
