Speed and security: the two hallmarks of a good wireless network and the WMP300N from Linksys helps deliver both. This Draft-N adapter has transfer speeds of up to 12x that of a standard 802.11g network with up to 4x the range. Draft-N’s high speeds let you wirelessly stream audio and video while making a VOIP call even better than with a standard Fast Ethernet wired connection.
The available 256 bit security means that nobody can read your transmissions and snag your data. This helps protect your identity and any sensitive information that you’re working on. Also, a secure network helps keep people honest by preventing bandwidth theft.
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Im a permanent resident at a hotel on the east coast. The router is downstairs on the 1st floor and across the parking lot in the Office. NO ONE CAN RECIEVE THE SIGNAL EXCEPT ME! This thing is the envy of the hood. Its paired with a Draft N router (linksys) set to factory defaults which apparently caters to these babies pretty well. My neighbor has a G adapter, and at 150yds cant pickup squat.....well nuff said!
Cons: Maybe the short cable from the card to the adapter. Your very limited to the circle you can move the adapter searching for the sweet spot, (only the true wireless junkies can understand this habit). I get 4 out of 5 bars at about 150yrds, but maybe its ego that drives me to search for the 5th bar.
Other Thoughts: Hey, its NewEgg.....buy it, try it, love it!

Pros: bought a pair of WMP300N and WRT300N. Long range(100ft), great bandwidth(270Mbs) perfect for high end users. I have never found a solution for network gaming in my large house until now. I have tried netgear, Dlink b/g and always have connection drop during network game like BF2, WC3 etc.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: The high quality external antenna really help longer range since you can place it high on your table and away from your computer which usually in the corner and among tons of wiring. Just centralize the direction of your router in between 2 plates.

Pros: Works fine with an outdated OS. As a matter of fact it is flawless under XP.
Cons: Very flaky when it comes to Win 7, the website says it will work under Win 7 if you download the "Vista" drivers...Well me and many others have already tried this and it does not work.
I decided to buy an AZiO "n" adapter for less than 30.00$ and all my problems dissapeared =)
Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money on this unless you have XP, you have been warned =)

Steer Away unless you use XP

Pros: Works with XP....
Cons: Linksys's reps take 6 month vacations instead of doing their job (update drivers). I went to the Linksys website to download the Win 7 32 bit drivers and the only one they have available is dated back to 2007... That says alot about the company!! 3 years and no updated driver, WOW, I gues they want us to shell out another 60 bucks for the WMP600N.... This is ridiculous, I will never buy another Linksys product again, I will also blog about this issue as well on other sites to make sure we are HEARD!!! I paid more than 100.00$ for this adapter over at Dell.com when it came out and now it is useless.
Other Thoughts: Stay away from this product unless you like massive headaches and dealing with useless oversea reps.....

Not Win 7 ready ....

Pros: None since Linksys will not bother to come up with a driver that works with Win 7 32 or 64bit. This is just unaceptable, specially since this is an "N" product and the most recent driver is from 2007. Linksys used to be on top back in the days, now it is at the bottom, rock BOTTOM!!!
Cons: Overpriced piece of junk unless you run Win XP....
Other Thoughts: I don't understand how such a highly regarded company is skimping on their drivers, we pay a premium for such hardware yet we have no driver support... I purchased a 26.99$ ASUS 802.11 n "USB" adapter and it did not take more than 2 min to setup. All I did was insert the adapter in the usb port and Win 7 "AUTOMATICALLY" found the correct driver....
Shame on you Linksys !!!!

Highlights
Wireless-N The LINKSYS WMP300N PCI Wireless Adapter uses the latest wireless networking technology: Wireless-N (draft 802.11n). Wireless-N's "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology multiplies the effective data rate by overlaying the signals of multiple radios, and uses signal reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels up to 4 times farther than standard Wireless-G. With Wireless-N, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. This adapter works great with standard Wireless-G and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, it can increase the throughput even more by using twice as much radio band, yielding speed up to 12 times faster than standard Wireless-G.
Wireless Security With support for up to 256-bit encryption, the LINKSYS WMP300N PCI Wireless Adapter offers reliable network protection and safeguards your data and privacy by providing access to a secure wireless network.
