Great product
- Pros: I have two sets of these, I have had the original set for almost a year, and recently purchased a second set. Both sets came from Newegg. I love being able to stream movies, music and photos from my Windows Home Server to my PS3.
- Cons: None, other than chance to brick a unit on firmware update. Lights can be bright, but a little electrical tape on the front bezel can fix that.
- Other Thoughts: The original second set, one of the units was bricked out of the box, and I had to RMA it, Newegg replaced it with the current set received today, both units took to the firmware update just fine. I had to update the firmware to work with my original set. Cudos to Newegg!
Easy to use.
- Pros: Easy setup- plug one adapter to modem and other adaptor to a ethernet device and that's it. No computer required to setup!
Worth the money, use with any ethernet device.
- Cons: Could be smaller, but it is already tiny as is.
- Other Thoughts: I got this at circuit city liquidation for around $30. I'm using it rite now...
Once working, rock solid
- Pros: Once both/all PLE200 adapters see each other, you're good to go. 84 - 100mbit LAN connection in my house depends on how remote the room is, but we have 16mbit cable and no slow downs there.
Both adapters have worked perfectly - no rebooting / freezing / disconnects. So far so good.
- Cons: Had a tough time a few times getting everything to recognize the connection. Eventually worked, but not sure why it took so long.
Ridiculously expensive, and I wonder whether different brands work together - anyone know?
- Other Thoughts: My home network setup: downstairs: cable modem -> 802.11N router -> PLE200 adapter -> upstairs -> PLE200 adapter -> 802.11G router.
2 wireless networks (1 upstairs, 1 downstairs). I'm getting one more for my gaming machine so I can get rid of the 14foot cat5 cable coming out of my room!
