4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Considering I got this on sale for $10, this is amazing! Works like it should.

Cons: Not the strongest signal. When i had my computer in my room, signal was very weak, speeds very slow, and would drop signal. I use my Droid X's wifi in there all the time with hardly any speed deficiency.

Other Thoughts: No way i would ever pay full price for this.

2 out of 5 eggsHW failure after about a year of use

Pros: It worked fine while it worked.

Cons: HW failure after about a year of use. The USB connector became loose and eventually it failed. Seems like the solder joint holding the USB connector to the PCB broke and then eventually the traces opened up.

Other Thoughts: It's ok if you can pick it up on shell shocker deal for 10 bucks but it's not worth the claimed retail price of 100 bucks.

2 out of 5 eggsBlea

Pros: Fits a USB Socket. Thin enough that it usually does not get in the way.

Cons: Range not as good as others I have laying around. Does not stay connected at 54Mbps speed. Stopped working after less than 3 years of occasional usage.

Other Thoughts: Cannot recommend, even for use as a backup. Never did work all that well, and spontaneously stopped functioning after setting for a few months

4 out of 5 eggsIt's alright

Pros: Got this for my wife's older system, and it worked alright. Range wasn't the best, but I was really just looking to get her online.

Cons: There are better deals out there for the money now. $50 for a wireless G adapter?

Other Thoughts: Lost an egg for the range issues I had. I didn't deduct any eggs for the price, because I knew what I was buying at the time. Just because I rated it high doesn't mean I recommend it, look elsewhere.

3 out of 5 eggstook awhile, but i figured it out...

Pros: Received Ver. 2 and it is a lot nicer than the one pictured. It does work....

Cons: Software included not compatible with Windows 7. Pain in the but to figure out how to enable it.

Other Thoughts: Took awhile to get it working, but after a lot of researching, I figured out that in order to enable the wireless, you must un-check Kaspersky under the adapter settings. I didn't see this info posted anywhere else, so if anyone is having trouble like I was, here is your answer.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked on Win7

Pros: My Asus PQ5-Pro's built in LAN card didn't work properly in Win7. I was in Wally World and picked this thing up and it worked like a charm. Never lost a connection yet and as fast as I can expect for a G card.

Cons: n/a

3 out of 5 eggsWorks...and doesn't

Pros: When the device works, it provides good throughput and is is quite fast. Works with Windows Vista and 7 RTM with drivers from Windows Update.

Cons: Has a tendancy to drop connection. The light becomes solid and no traffic is passed. To fix it, I have to unplug the adapter wait a moment and plug it in again.

Other Thoughts: All my issues were with Vista and 7 beta. I havent tested it on 7RTM past initial installation due to the previously mentioned instability.

1 out of 5 eggsWon't work on XP SP3

Pros: Not many. I've been a linksys fan for quite awhile and this adaptor did work great for about five months.

Cons: The box and description says it works with XP with all the updates, however, it WILL NOT WORK WITH SP3! When I finally contacted Linksys tech support after exhausting all my ideas, they informed me their software/hardware "sometimes" works with SP3, even though it "disn't compatible" and I should "downgrade to SP2."

2 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Comes with software that manages the adapter and your connections by disabling Windows Wireless services and overriding them. Easy to run through wizard.

Cons: Software is junky, manually installing the driver without the software doesn't make much difference, and overall the hardware constantly disconnects. Impossible to modify the first connection you create, so don't screw up.

Other Thoughts: You wouldn't think it, but I've been a LinkSys fan for years. This frustrates me because it's yet another piece of hardware with absolute garbage software and drivers propping it up. I never got anywhere near the promised speeds and it still won't stop randomly disconnecting no matter how I install it

4 out of 5 eggstough little thing

Pros: it does what it is made to do and it is tough; i've managed to drop my laptop straight on the side that it was plugged into and after completly cracking the shell, and bending and warping, it still manages to work after my clumsyness

Cons: it's ugly as hell and i have issues of disconnecting now and then
