What is the range upto which this can extend the ethernet??

It is totally dependent on the wiring. noise on the circuit etc. I used this in a 110 year old house and 4 Mb/s 110 or so feet away. Also check where your service comes in. (The panel) your two desired circuit have to be in the same panel, if one is in a sub panel it won't work.
