3 out of 5 eggsNot quite as expected...

Pros: Easy to install...push button pairing. Soft green indicator lights to confirm that they are paired.

Cons: No manual included in box, no software included, however, can dowload software from Linksys website. Has dropped connection many times in the time I have owned it, necessitating reset procedures frequently.

Other Thoughts: As a long time Linksys fan, I own multiple products from repeaters to routers and adapters which I have used over the years. Earlier products seemed to be more reliable than those products of late. I chose this adapter kit assuming that it was the most logical choice in continuing my network add on's in that it would most likely to be the most compatible adapter to set up in my Linksys environment. Initially, the adapter kit was easy to install and pair with my other devices. However, overtime, I noticed that it would sporadically and without reason lose it's connectivity and I would have to unplug them for a time and reset them. They do work well when they do work but it does get trying having to reset them so often. There are so many adapters available today, that I would not be likely to purchase these again based on my experience. I would try another brand considering they are vastly compatible with most other brand name products.

4 out of 5 eggsupdate

Pros: fast, stable when connects

Cons: price

Other Thoughts: update ;
it is fast reaching 65mbps but not sure why it throttles back to 20mbps then climbs back up to 65mbps a lot. it may have something to do with the 4 - 24000wat sine wave UPS i have, also a hole house power conditioner and surge protector or even possibly the firmware

But this not happen at all on my newer model 500mbps power adapter, though its bandwidth graph is all over the place peaking at 86mbps like the rocky mountains. LOL

yet this Linksys's graph is more flat line more stable aside from the one big drop from 65mbps to 20mbps and it does climbs back up fast to 65mbps but then down again, then up then down then up then down. LOL still 20mbps is more then enough not to notice unless you streaming multiple stream HD video and it still depends on the compression the hd video is using

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Works, pretty fast, stable. but - other thoughts

Cons: time travel :-/ good or bad ? True American values lost in time to communism ;/ good or bad ?

Wake up its all about you . So be you, not what your told to be. That's the true Americans and true freedom. Save America from bankruptcy

Other Thoughts: I have another brand newer 500mbps unit that does a bit better at speeds.

One thing the linksys has been doing is when it peeks at 60mbps+ or above it instantly throttles down to 20mbps than climbs up again. this not happen all the time. This dose not happen at all on the newer model different brand 500mbps adapter in the same spot. I guessing its the old wiring linksys is having trouble with. the linksys has much better ping !!! Right on the mark And also a more flat line less peeks and valley on a speed test. So linksys seems to have more advanced (quality of service) where is the new model 500mbps is all over the place in speed tests. I will be moving linksys to new wiring connected to 4 HD iP cameras and report back

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what I got it to do

Pros: Fast enough for a VoIP Phone and my desktop. Easy to set up, never dropped or had to be re-connected. Stable.

Cons: none aside from the fact that the technology itself still has a ways to go in performance, but for light usage, it's fine. Don't expect the world, and you won't be disappointed.

Other Thoughts: I got this to use while on vacation at a friends house over the summer. I needed my desktop and a VoIP phone for work, and didn't want to run a cable. My VoIP phone isn't wireless, and I really didn't care to set up a wireless bridge, too finicky for what I needed. This was simple, and voice clarity was the same as when I was plugged directly into the router. Now that I'm home, I may use it to run a line to my entertainment center, but I don't expect to be doing any HD streaming from BD rips on my NAS. I do expect Netflix and Pandora to run fine though. As long as you're expectations for a device like this are where they should be, and you realize that the further away your 2 adapters are the less likely they are on the same circuit (which will effect performance), you won't be disappointed.

1 out of 5 eggsBiggest piece of $h*% ever

Pros: It was on sale.

Cons: 1) This thing won't work if you have an existing power line connected. Okay that's understandable.

2) The speed from this is mediocre at best. I would get better speeds from my wireless before this was connected to the router.

3) It drains all the speed and leaves none for the wireless devices.

4) It drains all the speed, but where does it go? I run with 25 down and 5 up. Doing a speed test the power line I get 4 down and .75 up. A ping test is ridiculously horrible receiving a grade of "F" while using this power line adapter.

5) Now my router is jacked up. Since disconnecting it and even resetting several times my wireless connectivity is very laggy. You would think since my router is also a Linksys they would work in harmony, not the case.

Other Thoughts: In closing this is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. Not only did it not work as promised, but it has also messed up my router, another piece of junk Linksys the E4200, but that is another story for another day. I only wish that I could give it 0 out of 5, but newegg is just too nice to allow that. Will be sending back for a refund immediately.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than Wireless

Pros: I have tried many different routers and the Wireless was keep disconnecting but since I got this Power-line my connection never drooped a signal not even once. It has a good range and works good on by basement.

Cons: Since I got this Power-line, the Port forwarding setting on my Linksys router won't work well?

Other Thoughts: Expensive!

1 out of 5 eggsSigh

Pros: I can get a signal.

Cons: I'm getting much faster speed from my wireless..?

Other Thoughts: Got this cause its suppose to be faster than wireless. I'm only getting 7 down 3 up versus 35 down and 6 up on wireless and I'm pretty close to the router. I had to return another power line kit by another manufacturer which didn't work at all and now this one is an expensive, sorrowful disappointment. Could be my houses wiring however its only 10 years old... Do yourself a favor and just stick to cat 5 if you can. Darn you Linus, Darn you!!
