4 out of 5 eggsGood N router for close devices

Pros: I got this to replace the Linksys WRT54GS I was using because my wife got a laptop with 802.11n WiFi. It worked great wired and if the laptop was close.

Cons: I got much better range with my Linksys WRT54GS rpouter than this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router

Pros: I bought this router as an experiment for $30 with one of Newegg's specials to replace an e4200 that was giving me problems. Actually i didn't know it was the router, but I was out of options trying to make my wife's ios devices stay connected to the old router, and even my new Razr M was dropping wifi. This one has not given me any trouble and all devices, even the new Android stuff is holding wifi. I'm glad that's over! This "test" router is now my primary router for everything since it does its job so well. Also runs cool.

Cons: I gave up a little bandwidth vs. the e4200, but I'll never need it anyway.

Other Thoughts: I am using this router to wirelessly stream movies at nearly 8MB/s (blu-ray) and no hiccups. That's the most bandwidth I'll probably ever realistically need, but the router is supposedly capable of far more than that!

5 out of 5 eggsSo far works nice as expected

Pros: Good speed. No drop signal. Not 100mbps but I don't have a compatible adapter maybe? Constant 72 Mbps wireless connectivity. Guest connection. Only 30 dlls.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I've only had it for 20 days and so far it's been working flawlessly. It runs cool so I don't expect it to fail due to heating. I wasn't sure of buying due to some reviews not talking good things about it but so far i haven't had any problems. Some people complain about some of the feature not been easy to find but is not high science to setup it up, maybe because I've done it all kinds of routers. I've always bout Linksys/Cisco and until today haven't had problems with them although some of their products seem to be problematic if you do a good research you can avoid them.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Home Router

Pros: USB Port, 4 Ethernet Ports

Cons: USB 2.0 instead of 3.0 but i guess for the age its not bad. Price of $89.99 is abit high.

Other Thoughts: The cost of it normal with $89.99 is abit high for this router and I don't recommend it at that price, I would recommend buying a business router with VPN from Cisco for that price, but in the end I guess its the brand name you are paying for. I got this on sale for $29.99 which is a great price for this. The primary reason was the USB port so I could stick in a USB and get access to it on all my computers quickly which is a little pointless for me now.

I have this setup with a Cisco ASA 5505 Enterprise firewall in front which does thee routing and this simply acts as a wireless hotspot. I also have a NAS hooked up the firewall which I am able to access via WIFI; I also utilize the USB port on this router for plugging in an external drive real quickly that is accessible on over wifi and wired through the firewall.

2 out of 5 eggsAll Around Shoddy Router

Pros: Cheap (got it on sale for $30)
Wireless N

Cons: Does NOT support USB printers, contrary to the details. Wired and wireless performance is much less than I expected. I have a 100Mbps connection, which drops down to around 80Mbps on a wired desktop and 66Mbps on the built in speed test. Wireless devices don't get more than 20Mbps, with the device less than 3 feet away.

Other Thoughts: I am sorely disappointed in this router. I was upgrading from a WRT54-G v1.1, and I can hardly notice the difference. The only improvement is the reduced hit on wired speed. The WRT54-G dropped wired ethernet speed down to 30Mbps.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router

Pros: I bought the router about 5 months ago now and I have not had one issue with it. My apartment is rather small, so range isn't a factor. I have yet to power cycle it.

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsCisco/Linksys continues to disappoint

Pros: Decent range
Reasonable transfer rates
Price was 30$ after a Newegg promo

Cons: The last time I bought a linksys router was 5 years ago, they have the most unfriendly web support and setup. I took a gamble thinking 5 years was enough to improve, but I was wrong:
First off the default admin/admin, or blank/admin did not work, I referred to their site and used the other key passwords that are suppose to work in a failure. Still nothing. I had to hassle with it for an hr, till calling support extremely frustrated. Rep. said blank/admin was the pass, but unfortunately it wasn't working. He had to give me a long pass code to bypass default.

Once I finally logged in there network setups are as horrible as I remember them. Multi-network setup became another hassle, once logged in through the same protocol the other computers get cut off. I manually set them as primary, secondary etc.. Firewall disabled, proper settings etc.. Still cuts off once another pc logs in.

Ok, here we go back to customer support: the first tech was having a hard time setting it up with me and was trying to convince me that the software I was using had an issue or was incompatible, when I told him it works perfect with an Asus router for the last 3 years. Then a supervisor came on and guided me through what was a horrible unfriendly setup to finally get it working. And could not guarantee me that it would be stable (meaning I would have to most likely reset the router and start over, was the notion I was getting).

So I gave it to a friend who needed a router, otherwise it would of went right back to where it came from. I Installed the asus router back, problem solved. I will and should have gone with a newer, quicker asus router, my gamble with cisco yet again failed me.

Avoid there products. This time I may wait 10 years, maybe then they will get it right.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome router

Pros: Easy to use, easy to install, lots of great functions

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I used to own a Linksys router also for 4-5 years, recently decided to buy a new one to improve my speed - had a box connected to my TV to watch some satelite TV through internet but the speed is very slow of late.

This router is extremely easy to install and use and also has a very user friendly interface to manage your network access and password ect.

And more importantly, the speed of my internet also improved a lots since using this new router.

Definitely will recommend to anyone who will consider to buy a new router.

2 out of 5 eggsExpected More

Pros: -Nice parental control options
-Excellent configuration options - Can even turn off the activity lights.

Cons: - Small sweet spot for range - Need to be next to unit for high throughput.
- Drops in and out of being detected.

Other Thoughts: Would have been nice if the USB port was usable for printer.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Awesome wifi! Setup was easy enough.

Cons: Option for hiding SSID is buried. I cannot see what's connected. No option for changing channel.
