This TrendNet Wireless G Router makes it easy to network all the computers in your home or office! Once plugged into your modem, the router offers wireless 802.11b/g connectivity for your notebooks, gaming system, and other compatible devices within 150 feet. The 4-port Ethernet switch built into the router offers wired connections for your printer and desktop computers.
Configuration is quick and painless with the built-in web interface. The included Virtual Server utility makes it easy to configure any connected computer as a web server or FTP server, so the users you specify can have remote access to network content over the Internet.
Your network stays safe from hackers with WPA-PSK (TKIP or AES) or WEP encryption; MAC, IP, or Protocol filtering; and an SPI/NAT firewall, which also allows you to limit Internet access. Remote Management lets you make adjustments over the Internet. When it comes to reliability, security, and convenience, the TrendNet Wireless G router brings it all home at an unbeatable price!
Pros: Works after firmware update to v2b19. I received hardware version C1.1
Cons: When I bought it, it would drop the connection randomly. After firmware update to v2b12 (which was the only one available at the time) it still did the same thing. A week later, they release v2b19. This one stops the random drops!
Other Thoughts: It's working pretty good after all the drama. I read on a forum that some guy threatened them with the BBB so that they would give him the firmware update (v2b19) which they hadn't uploaded for 2 years since v2b12 (released 12/26/06). I'm guessing thats why they finally posted it on their site. http://www.trendnet.com/asp/download_manager/list_subcategory.asp?SUBTYPE_ID=1043

Works so far..

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Just got this router and reviews about connections getting dropped are indeed true, but there is an easy fix it seems - got this from a guy who posted review elsewhere - lower your Fragmentation Threshold to 2403. Router seems to be running stable after that. Also was a bit surprised to find that management console very closely resembles console on my old US Robotics router USR8054 that ran for 6 years till power supply of all things has died.
Cons: Given the price - none whatsoever

Pros: Great router, absolute plug and play on my network, just had to restart modem and then plug this in. has LOTS of settings and options available on the browser UI. More than the Linksys WRT54G, Great constant signal strength, get full signal across a medium sized Miami condo
Cons: I will say that i havnt owned this long enough to report on it's longevity but so far no hiccups.
Isn't N?
Other Thoughts: none

Cheap but not reliable
Reviewed By: on 1/30/2010
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Cheap, has all functions any one would need, easy to set up
Cons: I owned it for more than 4 months now. I had to turn it off and on every other day. Not reliable. I tried everything I can think of. I downloaded the latest firmware. I disable DHCP. I changed signal channel. I changed power setting. Bad product.
Other Thoughts: Good as a back up but not for everyday use. Do not buy it for your every day use.

Good Low-end G Wireless Router
Reviewed By: Skeeball on 1/29/2010
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Bought this for my daughter. Easy web page setup. It supports the spectrum of security standards, WEP, WPA, WPA2, built in firewall, etc.. Stable, so far, with no lockups to report. Strength "Very Good" about 15 ft away through a cabinet and wall. The price was right, $22.50 with promo and free ship.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Flashed firmware to 3.10.B13 after receiving it. No intial problems, but figured I just as well be running the lastest revision.
