5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Installation was very easy. Software is a little confusing but my 13 year old daughter had no problem with it. Sends files to and from our cell phones with no problem. That was its intended purpose, so I am very happy with product. BTW we all have LG cell phones, that info may help with your decision.

Cons: None so far

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Bargin

Pros: Works with Ubuntu 7.04, just add and run blue -tooth file sharing and send files to computer from device. works quite well, but it is usb 1.1 .

Cons: Windows not so hot, confusing software etc... Phone has no services for audio, so can't do anything but send files to computer.

Other Thoughts: check and see what services your device (e.g. smart phone) has. You may need to add software to your phone to run services that it might not have and your blue-tooth access is limited to file sharing.
OK for file sharing not OK for audio gateway or pairing headset for use with computer instead of phone.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: No drivers or anything special, it just works. I use it to transfer data to and from my cellphones. Windows XP and Vista recognize it immediately with no drivers, and my phones have all been capable of connecting with it right away.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Judging by the pictures, I have the previous version of this. Mine is a darker blue, not transparent, and has a rubberized exterior. I also bought it about 20 months ago. I have had no problems with it.

2 out of 5 eggsUck!

Pros: works great after installing the product.

Cons: Once the Dongle was disconnected from my system, all knowledge of it ever existing went with it, everytime i plugged it in again, id have to re-install the drivers.

Other Thoughts: bought one, ran into the problem after the return policy ended, so i bought a new one, to find it COMPLETELY defective. this finding out after someone was interested in buying one. I reccomend something better, preferably Kensington.

2 out of 5 eggsShort Lifespan

Pros: For the time during which it worked, it did its jobs fine. It supported a wide range of Bluetooth services, which was nice.

Cons: After a couple of months, services started disappearing, until it eventually became USB-numb. It died thoroughly. It's also worth noting that the casing seems shoddy, and, in some places, you could see the poor glue seam.

Other Thoughts: For the ~$xx I spent on the device, I was dissatisfied that it was as quick to die as it was. I no longer buy TRENDnet.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Once I was able to install a bluetooth stack, it worked. Inexpensive.

Cons: Could not get the BlueSoleil software to install from the CD. Also tried unsuccessfully, with versions downloaded from www.trendnet.com and www.bluesoleil.com.

Other Thoughts: I got this adapter to use w/ the plantronics 320 express headset. Since the WINXP SP2 drivers don't support headsets, I had to install a non-MS bluetooth stack. The included BlueSoleil software would stop midway through the installation process. After downloading & trying 3 different versions, I gave up on that. Searching the internet (including the bluesoleil.com forum) I found several similar complaints with no resolution. After more searching I found that Widcomm software supports this adapter. I used version 5.1.0.1100 since supposedly, later versions are restricted to Broadcom based adapters.

5 out of 5 eggsworks, but not for what I wanted

Pros: Everything works first time

Cons: It's great for wireless sync for your PDA, but not so great for accessing the 'net with your Palm

Other Thoughts: My difficulties were more with the nature of setting up a Palm to access the internet via Bluetooth. This is easiest to use with the standard Microsoft Drivers you have when you just plug and play. No need to use the included drivers.

5 out of 5 eggsIt does what it's supposed to

Pros: Win XP recognized it right away, installed drivers on its own. I got it to connect with my cellphone and didn't even have to use the installation CD.

Cons: Haven't found any.
