Is this adapter supported by Windows 8.1?

Yes - this is why I bought this adapter. TRENDnet has a Windows 8 driver for it on their web site. The adapter with this driver works extremely well with Windows 8.1 on my 6 year old Pentium dual-core laptop.

Is this product compatible with Dell desktops?

The operating system is the most important part of installing. If your computer is running WinXP, Vista or Win7 it should install easily from the included disc. If you are running Win8, the drivers are probably installed automatically.

Can anyone verify they have tried to use and install this on a Windows 8 or 8.1 PC? I tried a different (Rosewill High Gain Wireless N) Wifi Adapter and it Crashed my system and I had to reinstall the OS.

I'm using it on a Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and it works fine.
