Cons: From day one would cut out, after many updates, just got worse. finally got to where you had good signal but connectivity to internet was not there.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value WiFi Router!

Pros: Great signal strength with external antennas
Great speed and data rate

Cons: Internal antennas are weak

Other Thoughts: I bought this back in February from a daily deal and was not pleased with the weak signal strength with the internal antennas. Found a forum post on installing external antennas on this model. Ordered the pigtails and 10 dbi antennas from a popular auction website, installed them, and that greatly enhanced the performance!

5 out of 5 eggsEasy

Pros: Setup was a snap, including the security. No signal drops. It works as it's supposed to do.

Cons: Signal could be a bit stronger as my home is masonry construction and I'll need to set up a repeater. Not enough to loose a star.

5 out of 5 eggsNice feature set.

Pros: This is a really cool router and has a lot of nice features. I'm not that well versed in network configuration, but I know I have more than everything I need to make my network work the way I want it to.

Also, this thing is tiny and is really easy to either wall mount, put on its side, and or use the stand to have it set up vertically.

Also, you can load dd-wrt on it, which is awesome.

Cons: It feels easy to break because

1 out of 5 eggsBad router, stay away

Pros: Sleek looking
Easy to setup

Cons: Drops connections if using anything other than 54G when you have secure connections at the highest speed. You just felt like you were using a cheap router that couldn't keep the connection stable.

Other Thoughts: I loaded DD-WRT on it and thought it would make this little router much better but unfortunately it runs like garbage. I had to go back to my WRT150N which I don't care for much either. I had to stick to 54G connection on that router as well. I loaded DD-WRT on the WRT150N and it had the same issues as this one but at least I can make secured connections without drops.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Easy to use and setup...comes with a customized version of dd-wrt already installed on router.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I set this up as a wireless access point for my TV/blu ray player etc using their ethernet ports to save me from moving my router or buying proprietary wi-fi adapters from the respective companies. Buffalo makes a high quality product and it also save me from having to flash the router with DD-WRT (which rocks btw).

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but not good enough

Pros: High speed! I am able to stream 1080p videos through my house without any disruption. It also has multiple RJ45 ports for network managing.

Cons: It refuses to allow my Xbox 360, Laptop, Tablet, Cellphone, and printer to connect via wireless. It only works on my desktop and my psp 1000 (which is such a disgrace to modern technology)

Other Thoughts: If you feel its necessary to purchase a router this expensive to supply internet to a desktop that might be compatible, or a psp from 2005 who am i to stop you? It works.... I guess.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprised

Pros: As a Network engineer, I knew buying something cheap cause me problems later on. However, This is one remarkable little router. It's very compact and sleek, but the range is pretty impressive. I love that it runs DD-WRT.

I have 6 computers, 3 Roku's, 1 Apple TV, a PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii and I have NEVER experienced problems with the connections or signals.

Excellent, especially for the price

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Take advantage of the $24 special

2 out of 5 eggsMediocre Router

Pros: Wireless works seamlessly with my wireless devices. Those devices included an ipod touch and a PS3. The speed for those devices were great.

Cons: This router didn't work so well with my computer which had the slowest connection. The connection speeds were much slower than the g router that I had before.

Other Thoughts: I would not get any of the buffalo routers because their routers do not operate as advertised.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat router but may take a bit of knowledge to set up

Pros: Cost refurbished was $16
Small footprint, about the size of a 5x7 picture
Solid reliability once configured correctly

Cons: Setup wizard couldn't figure out my connections.

Other Thoughts: I buy cheap routers (usually refurbished) and configure them for a hobby.

I have Charter cable internet, so DHCP not DSL (PPPoE) configuration. The router initially booted up and found the wired adapter in my notebook and the UI came up no problem. But the internet connection wizard could not locate the IP address from the DHCP server. After a few hours of trying to figure out what was wrong, I looked on the Internet/LAN page of the UI and clicked on the radio button for "Acquire an IP Address Automatically from a DHCP Server" and then boom! 5 seconds later it was up and running.

So, if you get this router and have trouble getting the IP address accepted and registered, hope this helps.

We have over 17 devices connected to it, only 3 of them wired, so the wireless is heavily used. The router is centrally located in an 1800 sq. ft. house and the coverage is great.

I'm getting 300mbps on my wireless client when in the same room but of course it drops when in other rooms
