Pros: Upgraded to DD-WRT. Back in the day was awesome hardware. Still good.

Cons: Not sure if extra amp on the wireless made much of a differnence.

5 out of 5 eggsStill working

Pros: Bought this in 2007 and it is still running. Using with DD-WRT because the stock software wasn't up to par.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsreliable w/ Tomato

Pros: Tomato 1.27 open-source firmware installed smoothly, no quirks. Strong signal, wall-mountable. In 3 years of constant use as a WAP (wireless access point) in a crowded small office, I've had to reboot it ONCE to fix wireless connectivity.

Cons: not power-over-ethernet

3 out of 5 eggsGood buy

Pros: Good signal, easy to operate, lasted for 2 years

Cons: Lasted for 2 years, than died. Cant handle heavy wifi flow

Other Thoughts: The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because it was good for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little bargain

Pros: Flashable, cheap, reliable.

Cons: None to me really.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace my cruddy Netgear that couldn't handle Bittorrent connections a while back (in 2010). I slapped Tomato on it and it's been rock solid since.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the money, ideal for opensource firmware

Pros: Works great with DD-WRT and OpenWRT (Have flashed multiple custom openwrt builds no problem)
Reliable and steady performance (currently uptime reports 61 days, only restarted it when flashing new firmware)
External directional Antenna is nifty side feature
Built to stand vertically, taking significantly less desk space than my previous (linksys) router

Cons: No 802.11N support, draft or otherwise.
Default web interface is usable but not desirable or significantly customizable.
Switch is 100Mb as opposed to gigabit Ethernet

Other Thoughts: Would recommend router to openwrt/ddwrt user who doesn't mind not having gigabit LAN and whose main connections are Ethernet with wireless g for portable devices such as phones/tablets and laptops.

5 out of 5 eggsworking great and fast shipping

Pros: runs dd-wrt. built in signal amp. running perfectly as a repeater in ddwrt and gets even better range.

Cons: too bad it doesnt have faster cpu or more ram, but it seems to do the job good.

Other Thoughts: bought this to replace my new asus rt-n16, which was a defective unit out of the box and didnt want to mess with returning it. this router seems work just as good. in the future i will be getting buffalo only routers.

5 out of 5 eggs4+ years of usability

Pros: For the average user and home network, this does what you need it to do. It took me 5 minutes to setup, but I didn't change the firmware or do anything special. Too lazy.

Definitely looks like it will last a good bit if you're a standard user.

Cons: None for now.

Other Thoughts: Mom uses her ipad (*hits self in face), dad uses his desktop and his netbook, and I'm able to go to college and not have to hear about problems with the wireless router. That being said, low tech people will have problems setting this up, because the CD doesn't finish the process.
