Is it for outdoor or indoor?

It is made to be used outdoor and has tape to seal the connections from the elements,. You can use it in a large building to span a distance. You need line-of-site to make it work. Worked great for me at about 400 feet.

Is this antenna specifically for routers, or can it be used on an wireless adapter card w/ 2 antenna hookups?

This antenna should work with any router, access point or wireless adapter card that has a removable antenna. The only catch is that the manufacturer only says it will work with 802.11b/g and does not mention compatibility with wireless N.

how to install/connect this?
I have linksys router.
I am afraid that it may not be compatible, then I wont' be able to get refund after open the package.
please advise.

I just screwed the antenna into my wireless router.  My router has several antennas and I removed 2 of them and installed 2 of these big boys.  They work great by the way.  I did have to use the extension cables.  Full disclosure:  I installed these inside  and aimed them for maximum coverage.  My home was built in the early '50s and has super thick plaster / concrete walls with wire mesh - a wifi signal destroyer!  Now I have a signal inside and out all over my property so I can stream podcasts while mowing the yard.  We have over 2 acres and I have a great signal everywhere now.

Not sure of the actual question here.  I have it connected to a wireless access point (TP-Link) which in turn is connected to a Cisco router and it works very well.  You cannot connect the antenna directly to a router if it does not have wireless capability.  Must have an antenna connection available on the device you connect it to.  It comes with an adaptor to connect to the standard fitting on wireless routers/access points.  I have a 9db gain Omni directional antenna for indoors, and this one for the dock about 100 feet away.  Works very well.  Got an extension cable to install the antenna outside.  Went to the hardware store to get a piece of plastic pipe and a threaded baseplate fitting to make the mount.

I have two of them. I connected them to a 30 ft. cable and then to a router. One router is set up as an access point and the other is setup as a repeater. Good luck.

I have comcast business class with a  DPC3939 DOCSIS 3.0 16x4 Wireless Residential Voice Gateway and would like to use your device to extend my range to 30 rooms at a hotel.
But I noticed that the connector seems to be for a coaxial type antennae which the dpc3939 does not have, will this work with the cisco?

I have reviewed the manual for your device at Cisco's website and your device does not appear to have any external antennae or external antenna connector. You MUST have the external antenna connector in order to connect the adapter cable to. Sorry, but it doesn't look like this product is compatible with your device.

Question 7

Does this come with any sort of cable to hook to our routers TC antenna connection, or do we have to buy one separately? I'm ok with a 3 or 5 foot cable. That's all I need.

The included cable is really more of an adapter and makes the total length of the cable about 12-18 inches. You would probably still need a short extension cable unless you can mount the antenna very close to the router.

This is not a repeater. It is an antenna, to replace one of the stock antennas you'll find on the back of your router device. It does not work independent, it must be connected to a router.
