1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible with Windows 10, drivers are outdated and flawed

Pros: - Movable with it's USB cable, i.e. not fixed to PC

Cons: - Abysmal drivers. The drivers appear to be written in the Windows 9X/XP era. The device will consistently refuse to acquire IP. The only fix is to reinstall drivers each time it happens. Each reboot there's a 50/50 chance of it happening again.

Other Thoughts: - Unusable unless you like randomly not being able to access the internet. I was a couple months outside of the 1yr warranty and Newegg refuses to RMA it.

- I'd pay up for a better brand. For most people, internet is just about the most important aspect of a computing nowadays. Skimping on the WiFi card is silly in hindsight.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks OK

Pros: Bumped my speed from g (max) 54mbps to n 144mbps. I expected more but I can live with it. Picks up almost a dozen new networks in my development. Inexpensive ($19.99). Decent cable length so it can be moved to help with signal. Got here very quickly. I like the option of direct plug or cable and base, nice touch. I also bought a Rosewill RNX-N300UB, Wireless N300 USB Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, Up to 300 Mbps Wireless Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface, WPS for Easy Connectivity, Soft AP Mode unit for a laptop that also needed a signal boot. (Reviewed Separately)

Turns out I should have bought 2 of these RNX-N180UBEv2's instead.

Cons: Expected closer to the 300bps it advertises. At just under half of that at this point. Lost an egg for that. Haven't had it long enough to see too many cons yet.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend it but don't expect 300Mbps.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works rather well

Pros: Pulls in wireless signals from quite a ways away I'm connected to a network over a quarter mile away, and I have no issues at all with connectivity.

Works reliably with Windows 8.1 and 10 out of the box without any need for the install CD.

Works with Debian / Ubuntu based distros.

I like the base station that it comes with, allowing the antenna to be placed away from the computer, and elevate it for better signal reception.

Cons: Finding the wireless drivers for Ubuntu / Debian based distros is not straight forward on kernels newer than 2.6. It is a rtl8192eu chipset.

Got it to work on kernel 3.x series with drivers I found online, but I cannot get it to function with the 4.x kernel. It probably will not work with the upcoming Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. I could not get it to work on Mint with any 4.x kernel.

Other Thoughts: If you're running a MS Windows machine, it will be a very good wireless antenna for your needs. However, if you are going to run a Linux distribution, it's going to be somewhat difficult getting it up and running if you are using a 4.x kernel. I am looking to replace it with a FOSS compliant antenna, as the drivers available for it seem to have been abandoned.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks like a great Wifi Adapter and works for the Most Part

Pros: The cradle lets you put the adapter anywhere you want on your desk. The device uses a Realtek chipset, which is one of the best networking chipsets around. The device can connect up to 300Mpbs.

Cons: Sometimes it will connect at 150Mbps, depending on which router you use. It should connect at 300Mbps with an N300 router right?

Other Thoughts: This is a good value, especially considering that it comes with a cradle. This is my replacement for a unit I previously had.

1 out of 5 eggsBad

Pros: - Easy to setup
- Decent signals

Cons: - After a few months of use, the wifi would get cut off whenever the antennae is touched. EXTREMELY annoying.

Other Thoughts: I do not recommend this product at all if other users have the same problem as I do.

1 out of 5 eggsInexpensive adapter with a decent antenna

Pros: small foot print
decent antenna
easy to install
Newegg RMA process was easy

Cons: worked randomly, and at much slower speeds than advertised.
randomly dropped signal.

Other Thoughts: With all the 4 star reviews, I had high hopes this cheap adapter would be an amazing bang-for-the-buck purchase. The adpter worked ok when it is operational, though it only delivered about 25Mps download speeds. From the beginning, it randomly dropped the wi-fi after 5-60 minutes of being connected. Sometimes unplugging/replugging it in will reset it and it begins working again, other times only a full computer reboot will reset it. Sometimes it won't find the wi-fi signal at all, even though when it is operational, it will read 98-100% signal, and other devices sitting right beside it are receiving a strong wi-fi signal with 40-50Mps download speeds. Luckily Newegg's return procedure was very easy and I was able to return it for free. For this reason, I buy 99% of my computer equipment at Newegg!

1 out of 5 eggsNot Windows 10 compatible

Pros: Worked great when I had windows 8!

Cons: Upon upgrading to windows 10, I now need a new wireless adapter. Smooth move, Rosewill, would it kill you to release a working windows 10 driver?
