5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router

Pros: These things can do just about everything. Very reliable after updating firmware(see cons). Have not had a problem since firmware update.
Price is a big plus. Range excellent. Easy menu with documentation on each page. Firmware was easy to update.

Cons: Terrible before firmware update. It would work for about 36 hours then you would have to unplug power and power up again, Make sure you are at the latest version of firmware. It is easy to update.

Other Thoughts: I think I got these for under $15.00 on sale. Great deal. I replaced an expensive router with this one.

1 out of 5 eggsnot as advertized

Pros: cheap

Cons: Bought specifically because it was pretty cheap and advertized DD-WRT compatibility. Apparently the newest version this product has been updated and is now on v2 hardware and the firmware version is so far beyond what was available what you can no longer load DD-WRT on it. I've spent the better part of a day and half and no one can help. So now I'm stuck with the junk stock firmware. Firmware version on the router I received was 3.16.5 build 131009 Rel.31578n. The newest firmware on Rosewill's site is 3.12.17. This is a huge flub on Newegg's part as this device currently no longer supports DD-WRT. This should have been a nice simple upgrade but now I wish I hadn't wasted the money on this

5 out of 5 eggsI love this thing!

Pros: I got this for $16.34 over a year ago, as an upgrade from Linksys WRT54GL. The Linksys worked well, but was slow because it did not have N.

After I upgraded to the latest firmware, this router has been working flawlessly... no disconnections at all, ever! I don't do anything fancy with this router, but there's a bunch of settings to customize in the menu.

This router is probably the best $16 I ever spent!

Cons: Firmware was a bit glitchy when I got it, had to upgrade it to the latest one.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great even with ddwrt

Pros: Easy to install dd-wrt on. very stable. I use this as a client bridge with no trouble at all, everything works. be sure not to install the version from the dd-wrt wiki or the indicator lights won't work.

Cons: The Ethernet cable that came with it is pure rubbish. Too short to do anything with and of questionable quality. I had to do away with it on at least one of the two units I installed do to random disconnects.

3 out of 5 eggsDD-WRT... not so much

Pros: Cheap. DD-WRT does install and run.

DD-WRT has QoS, and it works great.

Cons: DD-WRT support is limited. The LAN ports stop working frequently when seeding a torrent. It isn't clear why.

I haven't been able to get an N connection - only G despite trying multiple DD-WRT versions and multiple client devices.

The Wireless G connection is totally stable.

Other Thoughts: I do not think DD-WRT support is stable enough to warrant officially advertising it.

I have no experience with the stock firmware.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap and stable

Pros: Very easy to install DD-WRT on
Quick booting compared to other name brand routers

Cons: stock interface is totally worthless, broadcast distance not as great as I had hoped, but is acceptable for home network use, goes 120-150 ft through average interior walls. (my modified linksys wrt54g went over 200 feet further with same firmware)

Other Thoughts: overall a decent purchase for the price, I now have the kids devices limited to 1Mb speeds and time allotments.

5 out of 5 eggsStill working!

Pros: I got this and was skeptical, but after installing DD-WRT it has been working fine for more than a year! I would buy two. Well worth it!

Cons: Not many

5 out of 5 eggsSolid performance

Pros: Affordable and small enough to hide or be inconspicuous.

Works really well in my condo, even up to the second floor on the opposite side.

Cons: For the asking price, really, none. It could be faster, but if you want faster, there are faster models in the same brand.

Other Thoughts: I'm running 3 laptops, 2 desktops and several phones through this and they all exhibit very little slowness or lag.

4 out of 5 eggsadequate for price

Pros: inexpensive, works, ran for 6 months with no rebooting. for less then $20, I would buy again if I needed them.

Cons: not an extensive range. range is no better then a wireless B.

Other Thoughts: I used this for a range extension, haven't gotten any deeper into the settings other then having a second router to connect to.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job on a budget

Pros: Once it's set up, it's a good reliable budget router.

Cons: Range isn't anything to write home about. The web interface for managing the router was not very user friendly and was very frustrating at times. Included documentation was not very helpful.

Other Thoughts: Web interface isn't kind to machines with multiple monitors for some reason. It must calculate the available width of the screen and stretch its interface to fill all the screens, even if your browser window is only on one screen.
