The IEEE 802.11n Draft prohibits using High Throughput with WEP or TKIP as the unicast cipher. If you use these encryption methods (e.g. WEP, WPA-TKIP), your data rate will drop to 54 Mbps. Rosewill recommend setting your router's wireless encryption as WPA-AES or WPA2-AES or update the latest firmware, in order to keep your wireless transfer rate at N speed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This product serves its purpose in the expected manner.

Cons: Slight issue regarding Windows 8 compatibility. The disc provided to you in the package will not provide you with an option for installing the Windows 8 driver, however, you can easily fetch it off of their site. https://www.rosewill.com/products/1808/ProductDetail_Download.htm

5 out of 5 eggsIt just works

Pros: The highest praise a computer component can receive is that it just works, with a minimum of fuss. Such was the case with this WiFi dongle. Plugged it in, installed the drivers, et voila - I had a connection. That it's cheaper than a large delivery pizza makes it even better.

Cons: Only real complaint is that it doesn't support higher transmission rates enabled by MIMO routers, nor does it work on the 5GHz band. But at the price? Who cares?

4 out of 5 eggsRosewill N150 USB Wireless Adapter

Pros: Easy to install, Well made. "High Gain"
It really does get strong reception, 5 bars.

Cons: It's not as "High Gain" as I hoped it would be.
Not anywhere close to 150 mbs, advertised.

Other Thoughts: I am expected to update my "router firmware"
to get the advertised speed. But it is faster than
the minimum 54 mbs limit because my system is password protected. Isn't everyone's wireless system password protected?? So why this meaningless limit? Something about a Frequency Standard does not allow unlimited throughput if a password is used . . . Really?? I am keeping this adapter, but I would be delighted to know how to get the advertised speed using this device. I have Vista 64 and a Cisco 300 Router. I have only 1 desktop, 1 Nexus 7, and 1 Android phone on this router. .

5 out of 5 eggsHigh gains

Pros: I ordered this as an emergency wireless card. The device is fairly big but feels very nice. The antenna is sturdy and easily used. The range and power is quite good. The most impressive part is the stability i have seen in radio frequency bands with very little deviation regardless of range. A great tool to add to anyone's tool box on the inexpensive size. No real setup time.

Cons: It is really bulky on computers that are mobile. Extenders work around this though. Connection times are a bit slow, in ms.

Other Thoughts: I like the design way more than I should.

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless performer

Pros: Runs like I've got a LAN connection to the router, I barely even notice or remember that I am using a wi-fi adapter. I got mine on sale, but even at full price its well worth the money.

Cons: I have experienced no performance cons with this product.
The only real con would have to do with how much space you have where you keep your PC stashed, because the USB stick and the antenna might make it tough to fit in some dedicated spaces/desks.

Other Thoughts: I have had it for nearly a year now, I did a custom build last year and bought this to serve as my desktop's wi-fi adapter. Despite the router being on the oppose end of the house and how erratic the cell phone signal can be in our house, this adapter is stellar.
I got mine with the the little "cradle" thing and have it tucked away on my computer desk, so if you're tight on space, just get the cradle and you can stash it anywhere within reach of the cord.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Good range

Cons: -Must adjust advanced properties in device manager to get optimal quality, after you do that though, this will be perfect. (Egg knocked because was rough before decided to make adjustments)
-Not plug and play (egg not knocked for this though)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Have had this item for a while now and it has done me well. It picks up the signal well and is very solid. I'd recommend it to anyone!

Cons: Somewhat cumbersome if you don't have enough room on your desk or if you don't have enough usb ports.

5 out of 5 eggsEffortless setup

Pros: Popped in the CD-ROM and was up and running in two minutes. And it works, it really works -- upgraded my wireless G laptop to N and pulled in a strong signal from two stories away. Nice packaging too, and all at a great price.

Cons: Fulfillment left much to be desired. Received an email confirmation that it shipped from a nearby warehouse, but a week later it still had not arrived and the site had no record of the tracking number. Arrived eventually, and worth the wait.
