will this unit work with printer connected directly to usb port?

It should work, according to the user manual, but I never tried it. I bought this unit as a backup and also as a router that I can use when I travel to countries where the utility supply is 220v. Sorry that I can't help much more than what I know.

I have never owned a Netgear router so I wouldn't be able to compare it to the Rosewill router. But for what it's worth, I bought the Rosewill for my mother-in-law six months ago and I haven't heard any complaints.

is it possible to configure this product to work with a chromecast device ?

Yes, you can. I had to call them and go through the install a few times. I had a hard time configuring the manual setup and getting some stuff like the dns subnet mask etc... Comcast of course told me that I needed to pay for tech help assistance. I got all my old setting off my other router and managed to configure it with those. It was a headache for me but I feel like I just made it too complicated! Good Luck!

how to access ucb device, usb hdd.???

sang I, I don't have enough knowledge to answer your question, but I thought you need Ethernet connection or WiFi capability to directly access a device like USB HDD. I don't what you want can be done; please correct me if someone knows more than me. As far as the 600N Router since I had issues week after installed but was able to correct issue after applying Firmware upgrades. There are three and I used the second upgrade and probably will eventually upgrade to third sooner or later. I wasn't sure if I could jump directly to the newest upgrade and had issue with first upgrade. Also, check the "clear Config" box as instructions suggest but may have to manually save info. BTW, if you restore a backed up configuration you go back to firmware in backup so only save a working configuration.
