Pros: 4db antenna seems to give better than average reception at relatively near range. External antenna connector allows easy use of a higher gain or *directional* antenna. Includes a M/F USB cable so you can mount it a little ways away from the computer, on a shelf or something. Just big enough so that it will sit flat when not plugged directly into the computer, yet small enough that I could plug it straight into the back of the computer and still use the USB port right next to it.
Cons: No problems here.
Other Thoughts: I installed this device on a Windows 7 system after downloading the newest Win7 drivers from Edimax (did not try using the included CD - I would not recommend you do either). I installed drivers only, not the Edimax tool. Seems to work fine with Windows built in wireless networking.
I have NOT tried using this under more extreme range conditions, not sure if it is super powerful or not. Full signal strength when just a few rooms away from the access point.

Great USB Card

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I got this specifically to test my security settings, and it did the trick. Very versatile card.
Cons: In windows, the driver setup and interface is sorta annoying. In linux, just load the drivers and it works great. Card also gets hot, but I haven't noticed any effects of that (I've been able to use it for hours at a time).
Other Thoughts: Perfect for what I use it for, reasonable price.

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Gets the job done.
Cons: None found.
Other Thoughts: The built in wireless died in my wife's laptop (mainboard problem). I didn't want to invest anything in the old laptop, so bought this card as a cheap fix. Works fine. I used velcro to attach it to the back of the LCD to give it that built-in feel.
