1 out of 5 eggsAwful

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support

Pros: Easy Install

Cons: This card worked perfectly for about a minute and a half and then it would freeze my entire computer. This is the only thing I've ever had on my computer that was such an issue. I highly recommend you buy a different card.

5 out of 5 eggsFast

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support

Pros: bought when it was on sale for 14.99.
I bought this to replace a very outdated card i had, its fast and was easy to install. The drivers were a little outdated but it wasn't hard to find the updated drivers for. Im getting 30+MBP's from this card. It performed better then i thought it was going to!

Cons: only wish it came with updated drivers from the get go, but not enough to take a egg off.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad!

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support

Pros: Works well. Even in gaming the signal stays strong enough that it is just as dependable as direct lan connection. For the price it is a good value. This unit is very capable. Its ASUS! Can usually count on quality.

Cons: I have used 4 of these on different computers. One had a software recognition issue and Windows 7 and would not communicate with the card. Rma not a problem with ASUS.

Other Thoughts: I do recommend this product and would buy again. I think the dual antennas make a difference. Tried another brand that had only one antenna which resulted in poor signal. Maybe it was the quality or the antenna ...not sure. The N-15 is a good card.

2 out of 5 eggsit works, but meh

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support

Pros: it works

Cons: the chipset on this card is rather weak, as such it relies heavily on the cpu to carry much of the load. this would be fine, if the driver worked. I've seen varying states of 'working' in this regard. The driver on the cd seems to have a bug that bsod's windows 8.1 when waking from sleep, and the online one's are just as flaky. In linux, since the asus tailored driver isnt available, you will see only speeds the card can achieve on its own, which; are to say, slow.

after a great experience with other Asus products, this was disappointing.

Other Thoughts: cheap, couldn't ask for much, i guess.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support

Pros: Quick and easy to install, range is pretty good as well as my router is around 50-60ft on the other side of the house and this adapter picks it up with only a 1 bar signal loss.

Cons: Sadly the Utility Program it comes with. I wanted something that would just run in the background without popping up on restart (mostly for my mother who panics if she opens up a new tab on firefox). It also makes it kinda confusing for those less into computers and more into just browsing the net (again my mother)

Other Thoughts: All in all I like it, shipped quick, easy install, good quality and no problems at all.

1 out of 5 eggsStarts out great.... then fades

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support

Pros: Good reception at over 20feet from router through a wall.
Initial bandwidth was getting up to 50mbits through my system. It just could not handle the speed I guess.

Cons: Purchased this in Aug. 2014 with new hardware for a new build. Worked at speeds of 45 - 54Mbits for a few months.. then it began to slow and drop connection... called ASUS, they said to back up to the 1.0.0.8 driver. That worked better but it still faded. By January it was getting less than 20mbits. Sent back to ASUS in March 2015 when it dropped below 10mbits, replaced and the replacement was even WORSE. NOW getting less than 10Mbits (often getting only 1 or 2mbits)while other wireless devices are getting higher even than 50mbits. (Using ASUS RT-N66U Dark Night N router) Cable modem speeds over 60mbits. ASUS techs try to blame everything but the card. Dual boot with Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon got the same results. This is not a good card. Might have better results from the ASUS N53 card, but not sure I want to go back to ASUS for Network Card.

Other Thoughts: Am sending this back to ASUS on THEIR dime this time. I will call back and request an upgrade to a dual band (N53)card. If no success I will just replace it or see if Newegg will refund my money. This has been a major disspointment. Device Manager advanced settings for this card seem to only offer 802.11 b/g options!! This might not even be acting as an N card as it's supposed to be.

Pros: despite some bad reviews I picked this up for 15$ on sale. no connection drops or anything and great signal. easy install, worked right out of the box. see speeds of 30mb+

Cons: this card has not given me any sort of issues.

1 out of 5 eggsBuy something else.

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support

Pros: It passes a basic idea of functioning when it is actually functioning.

I'm in the market for a new NIC?

Cons: Nonstop connectivity issues over the WiFi. I'm always connected to the router, but there isn't any guarantee that an internet connection will be working through the connection.

The Asus network utility is useless and can't even see the router. It picks up 2 ad-hoc networks from cellphones (I think, the information given is practically nil) and a connection to a Roku device.

In attempting to combat my connection issues I wanted to increase the receive buffer but can't, because that function can't be adjusted on this model.

I tried reinstalling the driver and the Asus utility because I had forgotten how terrible it was, and I thought maybe I could adjust the receive buffer through it, but no. Now I'm back to just trying to get windows to recognize and activate the card. Which I now remember I have no idea how I got it to work in the first place. So here we go...again.

Other Thoughts: When doing an internet speed test, the graph given, which should look like a mesa (upstroke to max bandwidth, some variation in speed, then downstroke to complete downloading cycle), it looks more like a child drawing a mountain range with peaks of 15mb/s speeds and valleys that return to the baseline. There will be a greater degree of variation in bandwidth speeds due to signal fluctuation, but seriously. This is terrible.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Range

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support

Pros: Really has no problems seeing my router which is quite a way away. Good fast connection every power-up. Good speed once I remembered to turn off the TKIP encryption. Small card stays out of the way.

Cons: Not really a CON, but it sees all the neighbors' networks, quite the SSID list.

Other Thoughts: I have several ASUS products including an ASUS motherboard and an ASUS RT-N66U Dual band router, all have been really good equipment.
