The RT-N53 dual-band router is from the award-winning Black Diamond series of ASUS routers. The dual-band connectivity enables both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless transmissions. 5GHz makes content streaming incredibly smooth, which is especially useful when watching videos through Web sites like hulu or other high-definition media sites. 2.4GHz offers compatibility with most devices, and both transmissions can run simultaneously to deliver essential compatibility with performance. Featuring an exclusive built-in 2 internal antenna, the RT-N53 features Ai Radar, for omnidirectional circular coverage as opposed to a limiting horizontal signal for optimal connectivity wherever the router is placed, especially useful for multi-level houses or buildings.

With multi user support up to five SSIDs, connect up to four wireless networks on 2.4GHz and one wireless network on 5GHz. Customize each user's bandwidth and access privileges for each network. The RT-N53 router also features robust parental controls for you to set time and Web site access for each SSID. Product setup is CD free and quick. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) to customize settings is intuitive for users at any level. Boasting a standalone wall-mountable design, the RT-N53 router has a unique lattice glossy style that suits any room or office with a modern appeal.

Dual-band Connection for Lag-free Entertainment The RT-N53 doubles your wireless performance and bandwidth with simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, with speeds up to 300Mbps concurrently. While basic internet applications like browsing or file downloading can occur in 2.4GHz, wireless HD content streaming takes place in the 5GHz band at the same time, so both achieve optimized speeds and you get to enjoy smooth, buffer-free HD content streaming.
Optimal connections with two internal antennas The RT-N53 features two exclusive internal antennas with Ai Radar omnidirectional coverage which provides optimal connections wherever your device is placed.
Multi User Support With multi user support up to five SSIDs, the RT-N53 can provide one wireless network on 5GHz and 4 wireless networks over the 2.4GHz band, which provides separated connection priorities and access rights. For example, High priority and both network (private and Internet) access are perfect for managers, while middle priority and private network work great for staff, and low priority and internet access only for friends and guests. Plug-n-surf and Hassle-free Management ASUS QIS and EZ UI offer you an intuitive router setup without reading manuals. The unit fails to start and is stuck in firmware recovery mode (power LED slowly flashing). When attempting to upload firmware it takes it, but then reboots and goes back to firmware recovery mode. Requested RMA, but this costs over $13, not worth. Newegg should have paid for the returns of defective units. 3 out of 4 people found this review helpful. Did you?
