1 out of 5 eggsNot even worth the free price!

Pros: Works great for the first month.

Cons: After that month, you need to restart it every few weeks because wifi will disappear. Then every few days. 8 months in and I have to reboot it every few hours to get it to work. Everyone else has the same problem it seems.

Other Thoughts: If you get this bundled free, do yourself a favor and just throw it in the trash and get something that works.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT PURCHASE THIS ROUTER!

Pros: It looks nice. Newegg gave me store credit for the price of the modem after I declined their offer to send me a new one.

Cons: I got this router free when I purchased a Motorola modem, I actually got two of them as I purchased one for my neighbor as well. I spent the better part of the day trying to get them to work, I went to the On Networks website, to get support only to get the following message "On Networks products are no longer available. Please go to www.netgear.com/home for all your networking needs." When I called Netgear for support they wanted to charge me, when I told them no thanks I'll figure it out on my own, they kept pressuring me to purchase their support so I had to hang up on them.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ROUTER! It is literally a piece of junk and go by the old saying "You get what you pay for!"

Other Thoughts: I what I gave it zero eggs, but that was not an option!

3 out of 5 eggsSuper cheap, needs to be rebooted A LOT

Pros: - Cheap Price (however, mine was free with my Raspberry Pi)
- Not bad looking

Cons: The connection is constantly lost and a reboot is required. Also, I'm not a fan of not being able to manage the router, "locally".

Other Thoughts: I've had pretty good past experiences with some of On Networks unmanaged switches, but I will have to pass on using this thing.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible device

Pros: Salvage parts

Cons: Everything, this was free with my Raspberry pi, so I thought I would use it as a repeater. every time all the settings are set for it, it goes black. The device does not repeat at all. The firmware is horrible, so I attempted some custom ones before I just have up and didn't waste any more time.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap but....

Pros: Cheap. Came free with my new modem.

Cons: Wi-fi began cycling on and off after a few months of use. I still don't know the reason.

Other Thoughts: After a few months of use I noticed that my phones and tablets were cycling on and off of wi-fi every few seconds. I still don't know the reason for this but it was seriously impacting the battery life of my devices. The only fix i found was to turn the router off and back on again. After this happened a few times I replaced it with a Cradlepoint router that was being discarded from work.

1 out of 5 eggsabsolute garbage

Pros: it is light

Cons: It is light. it is absolutely garbage. No wonder why it is free. Actually it is expensive even though it is free because I went through setting it up just to find out that it is a garbage. It can’t even keep up with one laptop connected to it. The signal keeps fluctuating so laptop keeps connecting and disconnecting. I also tried connecting my iphone. Same thing.
My advice, don’t bother setting it up. When you get it as a free gift just toss it in the garbage when you receive it.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I use this router to directly connect to my modem to take advantage of my very fast internet. I also have the Linksys router that is the #1 seller and have had it for YEARS, but unfortunately it is a bottleneck at 54.

Cons: The wifi range is subpar compared to my old linksys router so I only use it for direct connection and use my linksys for wifi.

Other Thoughts: I got this router for free so my review may be some what bias.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for about 6 weeks, then died

Pros: Got it free with a modem. When it worked, it worked.

Cons: After about a month of using it exclusively wirelessly, I decided to hook something up to one of the LAN ports. After I plugged in an Ethernet cable, the router refused to, well, route the Internet through anything. The lights on the front would flash rapidly and I couldn't even get wifi signal. The only way it worked was with the WAN cable from my modem unplugged, which is obviously useless. Troubleshooted for a day, but no luck. Tried to flash the alternative firmware as detailed further in the reviews onto it as a last-ditch attempt, but that bricked it.

Other Thoughts: Well I got what I paid for.
