2 out of 5 eggsIncluded Free, realized why shortly after.

Pros: It was free?

Cons: Out of the box setup wasn't too difficult, but it didn't seem to want to work with my Motorola SB6141 modem. I had ordered the modem and received the Router free with the purchase.

Possibly a good router? I didn't fiddle with it enough to warrant keeping it. Ended up getting an Asus N66U instead, much happier.

2 out of 5 eggsGood router but...

Pros: Fairly simple to setup. Passes data most of the time. Wireless n works. Easily understandable pdf and some answers are available by google.
Price was right.

Cons: Installed at my brother's place 500 miles away. The box seems to 'go to sleep' when not actively used. I remote into it to manage but early in the day, the IP statically assigned and all devices internal to the network, are unavailable externally. The logs don't indicate any problems and the statistics indicate no problems. Tried to research through Onnetwork's site and the knowledgebase is of no help. I couldn't register it due to the serial number is physically 500 miles away so I am unable to get chat help at this time.

There isn't a secure way to connect to the router for management purposes. All management connections are via HTTP.

Other Thoughts: I updated the firmware to the latest available, (1.0.0.5_1) which was easy. It is connected to a DSL bridge with a static IP address assigned by the ISP. There is the possibility the problem is with the ISP's equipment but they indicate 'no' and won't continue to test. I have been able to make the network reliable by running a constant ping at 5 minute intervals to various internet sites from an internal pc. Would like to turn the pc off eventually. There should be ping capabilities internal to the router.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's a good router.

Pros: It's the size of a small book and it stands vertical.

Cons: It feels sort of hollow but that means it is light in weight.

Other Thoughts: I bought this router at an electronics store for $15 dollars. It comes with a cd that you use for setting up your router.

5 out of 5 eggsStill great after 6 months

Pros: Decent support and recent firmware updates from On Networks. Firmware control functions reasonable for this price range. Reliable if used with an understanding of the medium and network technologies used.

Cons: Not dual band. I knew that at purchase.

Other Thoughts: If you have a smart phone, particularly and Android phone, look into one of the many wifi analysis tools such as WiFi Analyzer. This device is not like other networks like Ethernet. WiFi uses radio and thus is subject to interference. I use the tool to figure where my neighbors routers are tuned to and change the router channel accordingly. I probably end up changing channels every couple of months as all af my neighbors use WiFi with FIOS from Verizon. Expect the lower channels to be busy. I end up on channels 4 and 5 most of the time as the higher channels appear to be side-bands and don't have the wall penetrating ability of channels 1 - 6.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth spending money on

Pros: It was free, and worked as a temporary modem, or could work as a switch or something.

Cons: Wireless reliability is horrid, and constantly drops connection. Not acceptable.

5 out of 5 eggsN300R-199NAS wireless router

Pros: I have had this router for 2 weeks and I set it up right after I got it and it works fine. Easier to setup then my Linksys routers and has a little better range than my Linksys router. It came free with my broadband modem so no complaints there. Its not the fastest in the world only 2.4 ghz but no complaint it was free.

Cons: none
