Which OBi Should I Get?

Obihai has four telephone adapters, currently - The OBi100, OBi110, OBi200 and OBi202. See the chart below for an overview of the product features. In essence, these products work with your phone in the same manner except for one key feature. The OBi110 has a physical port for an analog line service. This port, labeled LINE on the OBi110, can be thought of as a gateway to a traditional phone service. The service can be from a land line carrier. It can also be from a VoIP service, when the phone port of the service provider's device is plugged into the LINE port of the OBi110.

5 out of 5 eggsOne year review

Pros: Works good. Free home phone with Google Voice.

Cons: Nothing to complain about when you get free home phone.

Other Thoughts: If you want 9-1-1 you have to pay extra. But the price for it is not expensive, no different than when its on a regular phone or cell phone bill. I have used this for faxing.

5 out of 5 eggsDitch the phone company!

Pros: -Works with Google Voice!
-Easy to configure with their website.
-Mildly more challenging without using their automated website.
-HIGHLY CONFIGURABLE! (want to learn SIP? Here's a device you can configure.)
-Free OBi to Obi calls. It might be a cheap solution for international calls.
-Great Price on Sale!

Cons: Doesn't support Fax. It won't work with Fax. Don't hope. You won't "get lucky" and fax. Even setting your fax machine to 9600 baud won't work. Don't bother. Buy the OBi200 or OBi202 if you want fax.
You've been warned.
Won't work if you don't have power and internet (functions as expected).

Other Thoughts: I've loved it so much, that I bought an OBi202 from Newegg (on sale) in order to get Fax capability (and another line).
The OBi100 will be reconfigured for my mom.
Get an OBi200 or OBi202 if you want fax.
OBi302 doesn't work with Google Voice.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Customer Support from Obihai

Pros: This device worked great. The Google Voice connectivity feature was the best thing about it.

Cons: Obihai pushed a firmware update to my device which resulted in the device no longer functioning. I contacted Obihai customer support multiple times but they refused to help citing that my device was out of warranty and suggesting I but another. This is not a company that stands behind their products, especially when the fault came from their actions.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent little box for the landline

Pros: Excellent unit to work with google voice. Contrary to other statements, I'm able to send/receive faxes with this unit.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Mine connected to the fax and from the fax to the phone, everything works just fine. So far setup two of these, both units working just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsIndescribly Awesome!

Pros: Works seamlessly. Extremely simple to hookup and configure. Pretty much plug and play. never maintenance or restart. Just click a button on the OBHAI website and it automatically connects to your Google phone number. It's so easy a caveman can do it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have another one of these at my other house, both have been connected to a free Google phone number. I pay nothing for either Google phone which includes free unlimited calling, voicemail, long distance, everything, I don't know how they do it but I'm happy about it

5 out of 5 eggsvery easy and convenient

Pros: I purchased this for my parents in law. they were switching between calling cards and Skype. there's something "comforting" about using s good old landline phone instead of a cell phone, and they don't have to scream at the computer when on a call. crystal clear voice quality using Google voice for local and international calls. I paired this up with the newer Panasonic 3 phone systems for them. very easy setup.

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsOBI100

Pros: *Very easy to set up.
*Very clear voice both hearing and speaking.
*Works with pretty much any house phone.
*Can use Google Voice for free telephone service.

Cons: *Have to pay a small fee for 911 service.
*Does not work if power is out.
