1 out of 5 eggsComplete waste of money

Pros: Well, it hasn't killed anybody

Cons: They should really just start advertising this product as a paperweight, because that's all it really does. I purchased it to add on to a AMped Wireless 3000 Access Point because of all the claims Amped Wireless makes about performance and coverage. I got virtually no gain from this product. My signal before the antenna was 54% my signal after installing the antenna was.....56%. Nowhere near the 2X they advertise. This antenna did nothing for me nd as it seems no else either

Other Thoughts: Absolutely useless

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Bill,
We apologize for the issue you are having with the unit. The WA12 antenna is of higher gain then the antennas on the AP300 unit so you should see an increase in the coverage. please make sure you have the antenna connected to the primary antenna port, the one opposite of the power connector, so that the antenna works correctly. If that does not increase the performance please call our tech support line at 888-573-8820 so that a technician can assist you.

3 out of 5 eggsStronger signal but not that much

Pros: Really gained signal but only about x1.2 not x2 like the box would say, will probably gain a little better signal by placing it higher but can't due to the cable's length

Cons: The cable is really really short ! Big in size , some what cheap feeling

Other Thoughts: I used on my Cisco Wireless Adapter , but I think this might work better for replacing router/modem's antenna.

4 out of 5 eggsGood coverage

Pros: Easy to setup/install. Good extended coverage even with router/antenna in my basement I can get signal outside 300 ft away.

Cons: Antenna connection cable could be longer.

2 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

Pros: Strong Magnetic Base, the antenna pivots nicely

Cons: I've seen no noticeable difference between the 7dBi antenna I had on the device before, no matter how I angled the antenna.

Other Thoughts: I think this would probably work better on a router instead of using it on a network card trying to extend range on signals received.

5 out of 5 eggsIt Works!

Pros: It really does work. Noticable increase of signal strength on Amped repeater. Through 2 walls of house signal is now 50%. Was previously 10%. I was sceptical about buying this, but now I'm buying a second one for another house.

Cons: It's high vertical height and flat width is hard to hide. It looks like an audio speaker.

1 out of 5 eggspiece of dung

Pros: cool plastic case...made to look like its really does something

Cons: does nothing...made no gain at all. an old old car cell phone antenna works much better. i know cause i use one.

Other Thoughts: these "power antennas" are passive..not powered . just gives a larger surface for radio waves to hit. a soda pop can on a wire would work the same for alot less.

Manufacturer Response:

These antennas are passive. The compress the signal making it easier to send and receive. If you are looking for a powered antenna, the SB 1000 from Amped Wireless has 1000 mW for amplification behind it's 7dbi antenna. You will have much better luck with this powered antenna.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: None

Cons: Cheap plastic, flimsy, not durable. Joint broke, tried using the safety collar to no avail. Discarded into recylce bin. May come back as a tie wrap or soda bottle.. Look elsewhere.
Also not that much better than standard stick antenna provided with nw card.

Manufacturer Response:

Amped Wireless stands behind all our products. If you are having any issue with the quality of the product, please contact our US Based Amped Elite Support Team and we can look into providing a replacement for you.

1 out of 5 eggsNO

Pros: ... None come to mind

Cons: This thing is HUGE. Bought this to get better reception in my room, and it turned out to be worse then the 1 dBi antenna I had that came with the USB dongle.

Manufacturer Response:

You may have not placed your antenna for optimal signal. Please mount your antenna 6 feet off the ground. Place away from low lying objects, microwaves, fridges, cordless phone stations, and other heavy obstructions. The high gain antenna compresses the signal making it easier to send and receive, but all wireless environments are unique, and antennas are susceptible to interference as well.

3 out of 5 eggsprobably not what I needed

Pros: Very easy installation. The magnet was a big plus for a rather unorthodox install above a door frame.

Cons: Item really didn't do what I needed. I had hoped to get a reasonable signal at 200 ft. thru an exterior wall. Without the product I get occasional low signal strenght. It is no better with the item installed.

Other Thoughts: Trying a repeater with direct LOS to the router next.

5 out of 5 eggsEffective signal booster

Pros: -Immediate improvement in signal strength over stock antennas
-Strong magnetic base and pivoting antenna allows for creative positioning without the need for mounting
-Black gloss finish looks nice

Cons: -Short antenna cable

Other Thoughts: The cable is quite short, less than 3 feet. If you are thinking of mounting this any distance away from the computer, you will probably want to pick up a wireless antenna extension.
