Fast and Cheap
- Pros: Very nice looking, nice black finish. Vista is a memory hog but this laptop runs very well with aero and all the effects on. It uses only about 30% of the memory leaving 1.5 gigs for movies, music, or the occasional paper. Great for the student who needs a laptop.
- Cons: Lots of extra unnecessary software that needs to be uninstalled.
- Other Thoughts: Great for everyday mobile computing if you're on a budget.
Great Laptop
- Pros: This is a very fast laptop. It can easily out pace some modern desktops in its class (business/budget/student...). It is excellent for movies, movies, and web surfing.
- Cons: It is not a dedicated gamer system. It will run Battlefield 2142 online on highest quality settings. The hard drive could have been larger. The graphics card could be better. It is not Ubuntu friendly. Most of the hardware has no drivers for Ubuntu.
- Other Thoughts: If you want a laptop that you can "do your business" with, than this is the one for you. If you need a powerful laptop for serious multimedia editing and gaming, this one is definitely NOT for you. All-in-all, for the price, this is a good buy. It is a recommendation to all those who need a cheap system for on-the-go work. I'd buy another one (if still in stock).
Great Buy
- Pros: outstanding performance for basic needs such as word processing, slide presentations, video playing. Not an ideal system for games, but will play many. Most demanding one i played was Company of Heroes and that was on minimum settings. Great laptop for traveling with, battery lasts around 3 hours on power saving mode. around 1 hour on high performance. <- playing games and movies. Outstanding wireless card, great range up to 54mbps.
- Cons: 2 gigs of ram will work great in this system but i recommend going up to 3. you can put in 4 but vista will not recognize all 4 only 3.5.
- Other Thoughts: The built in video chip set is not meant for gaming. It was meant to make this laptop functional for basic needs and media. not high end graphics.
